I found this old thread. Iâm considering subscribing to this service. It bothers me that he does not give exit instructions. It also bothers me that he posts performance numbers based on the highest possible value of the option. On the other hand, he suggests -25% stop loss and profit target of 25-50% range on every play. He also suggests that once the play has achieved a 10% gain you set a -15% trailing stop to protect from losses. So if you have 55-60% of winners and average winner of 25-30% with average loser of 20-25%, you still should do very well. I also read some good reviews on Pro-Trading-Profits. I emailed the owner and got a response within 30 minutes. He has 225 paying customers on PayPal, and he is in business since 1999. Iâm usually very skeptical about those services, but this one seems to have pretty long and successful history.
I was wondering if anyone knows in general or on average does options-intelligence service trade at the money or out of the money options? And if out of the money. On average how far out of the money in strike price do they go? Thanks,
Thanks for the reply. After looking over the options-intelligence website again, I noticed something else that you may be able to answer or have some ideas on. I noticed that in some months they may only trade 3 or 4 markets, then other months they may trade 6 or more markets and in a few months they may not even trade. So what I was wondering is, what do they use to know: 1. Wheter to trade or not that month. 2. Which stocks out of their list to trade that month? Thanks for your help and ideas on this.
Other than outright lieing, what better way to make you newsletter attractive to noobs who don't know any better? Noobs think trading is an easy way to riches. Suckers!
I have been a subscriber of Options-Intelligence Special Plays for 3 weeks now and for those interested, here are my first impressions. It was a bit tough start â first five trades were losses, but I liked the fact that they are cut very quickly. Biggest loser was 25%, others 7-10%. Then I had 24% profit in AAPL, 65% in GS, 113% in MA and 95% in GOOG. Out of 12 last plays, I had 4 winners, 5 losers and 3 around breakeven. My average return (including losers) was 16%. The site shows performance based on the pick of the option, so for the same 12 plays, it shows average of 78%. Itâs obvious that nobody can achieve the results shown on the site, but 16% per play seems good enough for me. He has about 15 plays per month, average holding period is about 2-3 days. I think you can do the math. The hardest part is when to exit. He gives you the entry point and recommends setting 25% stop loss (sometimes he will advise to exit at 10-15% loss), but you have to decide when to take the profit. Iâm currently trying to exit third at 30%, another third at 50% and let the rest run with 25% trailing stop loss. The customer support is very good. If you ask a question about specific trade, you can expect an answer within hour. General questions are answered within few hours, always at the same day.
akivak, have you heard of this option service? Breakfast Club Tycoon We call it the Options Power Trader âBreakfast Clubâ. https://web-purchases.com/TPO/WTPOL301/landing.html sounds interesting. Also I have recently tried an option service advertised on cnbc, some picks have been winners, but some are on thinly traded stocks with min option activity which seems strange to me. i am going to ask them about this. I have also tried several services from a very large organization and the results have been very poor. i would think with all their resources they would be better. also tried to get some kind of comp for the bad results but "no". i would not do any thing with them in the future.
Update: I must say that the results are actually pretty good. The fact that he doesnât give the exit instructions might be actually an advantage. It makes you think and learn. You cannot rely on someone else all your life. The average gain is about 14% per trade so far, based on 37 trades. Winning ratio is about 60%.
