When has it happened before?

 

I think it was 1997, I know the markets were closed in september 2001.

I'm pretty sure we had an overnight limit down move more recently than 1997...

 

ES was limit down overnight in Jan this year

 

Monday Jan 21, 2008. Regular markets were closed but futures were locked down limit. French Bank liquidation overnight on rouge trader blowout.

 

correct... i cant think of any other time.
