Last Pieces of the Puzzle Journal

  1. Keep your head up, dude. At least you've proven that you can make money consistantly.

I repeat the same stupid mistakes day, after day, after day. I constantly fight the market. I was long AAPL on the way down in the morning and short SPY on the way up in the afternoon. :p I know why I lose, but I keep losing just the same. It's like an alter-ego takes control and buys when everyone is selling and vice-versa. No trades for me until next week...maybe next year.

Anyway, I'll be looking for your comeback post tomorrow. Good luck :D

    Angry...
Thanks. I think writing in this journal has helped me in certain ways and thanks for being a part of it.

Worse part of Monday's trading was that I made it to my $500 = +1.00 profit but didn't lock it in, then the problems began...and If I stuck to me outline my profit that went negative would have eventually hit the profit again...but I HATE looking at the chart after I'm done. I think it causes a trader to 2nd guess themselves. You have to trade in the moment.

Back today and the correct plays were called...

more of a battle than I was looking for today, but happy with the results and the holiday break.

Without going into detail I had heard some news over the past two weeks which could have turned out to be life changing, in a not so good way...on Tuesday I found out that information wasn't too accurate.(thank you God for hearing my prayers) When the health of a close loved one comes into question, it is gut wrenching...

I hope everyone can enjoy this holiday season and I truly wish you all good health & happiness...

One of my favorites growing up...

    I took Friday off...

    Monday...made mistakes...

    1) I took a trade that I shouldn't have. I was just about at my goal for the day with the 2 positions that I had open...I didn't need another position.

    2) I added way too many shares to the trade that I shouldn't have taken.

Each day I will be concentrating on not making these same mistakes and I am going to point them out here to remind myself.

    I entered my 1st position (500 shares)

I was checking my charts and came across a 2nd trade.
I thought I changed the symbol in my order entry box, but I didn't and added 500 shares to my 1st position.

    I entered my 2nd position (500 shares)

So, I made a typo mistake today, but I didn't feel that I had to back out of the additional shares. I do scale in-and-out at times, so I was just giving it extra attention...

    Thanks Builder.

I'm looking forward to the new year. These last couple of months I've had "green" days, weeks and even months...but red for the year. It seems that after banging my head against the wall so many times the light finally came on...somewhere between August and October...

and success to you in 2009 also...

    Happy New Year...!

    I think I'll grade Weds. trading as a "c-"

I rode a small little roller coaster, but I am pleased that it didn't turn out for the worse.

I cut a loser when I had to
but, I was definitly heavy scaling in shares a few times.

I could have gotton out with my goal [+1 point on 500 shares = $500] but I wasn't decisive enough and had to wait it out. With all of the snow we were getting and the long drive I was about to take I wanted a short day, but...
