Laser Sucks!

  1. if the software is providing slow quotes, bad data on lever2 , charts & incorrect pnl . how does anyone trust executing trades on this platform anymore? with a unstable platform, its a losing situation to be in. there was a time when laser actually performed & getting a lower comm was a bonus, those days are gone imo. and the new post on et with all the cheerleaders with their positive reviews on laser what a bunch of bullshit. its all down hill with from here as i see it.

  2. attended the analytical traders patalk tradingroom . owner/moderator had convinced about 6 members to use laser trading platform. in the four months i attended this room 10/06 thru 01/07 , laser had constant data problems,numerous bad fill issues, clients unable to login,system completely being down for hours at a time.these issues were constant and perpetual. not to mention customer service very independent and arrogant. tech support ....non existent. OTHER THAN THAT .......IT WAS GREAT!!!!! when are people gonna realize that you get what you pay for ??? use a full service broker who answers the phone ,has a reliable platform with the reputation of good fills instead of trying to save a few nickels and losing your ass on a trade because of a system breakdown or always getting bad fills??

  3. i can't agree more, we all get caught up with these sub-penny comm and when their are problems with the software , then reality hits, getting stuck in a trade & losing money because the system is not executing is a serious issue. even free comm is not worth the risk. their are major issues that never get resolved , all we get is execuses. one losing trade which i had several, and should know better is too many, it time to move on to a stable platform, that works all the time, we need to execute with confidence. we are stating the obvious facts as being users & are told its our connections & problems are all fixed, all execuses for a infastructure that is lacking in many ways. their are better platforms that do perform , who needs all the frustration.

  4. The truth of the matter is look at how many posters are saying good things about laser now.

    Many more good then bad.

    Laser is back and working awesome!!!

    Now before you start calling me a cheerleader or start thinking I am a part of the management team, please look at my first post on elitetrader. It was not a very nice one, in fact i was saying negative things about the software.

    I say it like it is. Laser was awesome a few days before the fed announcement. I just did not say anything at that time because volume was light and I wanted to see a true test.

    The fed announcement was what I was waiting for. Laser handled it perfectly. Also I would like to mention that laser was perfect when looking at Rimm as well the next day.


    Thanks again to the Genesis Management Team for resolving the issues.

HEY LASERSCALPER. we pay to use the laser platform & expect it to provide us with accurate quotes, but that has become a pipe dream. these ongoing problems with the software for months now is unacceptable. if you call genesis tech support with a question, they ask you to call your group leader, which is very unprofessional. i feel they are understaffed & some how can't resolve these issues, and rather insult us with execuses about our connections . while most other platforms are working fine. we should just cut our losses with a bad system as we do with a trade. time to move on imo, if it works for you than fine.

    Every company has its up and downs there probably isn't one platform out there that has had perfect software. All I know is that Laser is back working, and it works more often then not, and when it works it kicks ass over all the other platforms I have used.

    I'm having trouble logging in. Anyone else?

    As an aside since my first post - Genesis has done a lot to improve Laser - and though it took long - Laser seems to (almost) back to its old reliable self. Good work.

    Same for me - could not log in at all today - called Genesis tech support and they said it was a system wide issue, they said just keep trying - so i did.

    Tried logging in at 8.15am no luck

    Tried logging in at 9.00am no luck - and every ten minutes till 10.45am


    Gave up

    By 11ish most of the major moves that i trade would have been over so dint bother trading.

    As of now - 11.30 still cannot log in to the system.

    Cheers Genesis - another waste of a day

    It's been good here from 10.15 or so. Make sure you have the latest version downloaded though. Good luck.

  10. Yep. It's back to the same old Laser alright.

    * Same inaccurate highs and lows
    * Same constant need to change chart/quote servers at startup
    * Same horrible stop orders that trigger prematurely.
    * Same pathetic charts
    * Same inability to customize hotkeys with individual quantitites and multiple routing instructions.

    and on and on and on...
