  2. "The recession ended in June" I hope was a tongue in cheek reply because all I see are sales tax receipts down and the majority of local governments in such deep shit it boggles the mind.

  3. Proof that many are narrowly focusing on specific economic "indicators" and disregarding the underlying inputs and periphery information.

Unemployment down .2%.... MUST BUY STOCK!!!!

It will be a hard fall.

everyone on earth knows the next few years will be hell. with massive deleveraging its assured. but wall street could care less as they took huge advantage of a known short term upswing to make 10's of billions by hyping it to the moon and sucking millions in. everyone knew last spring we'd get a short term pop with massive stimulus and inventory rebuilding. but they won't tell anyone till after the fact it won't last.traders and investors now adays don't care if the mkt goes to 5k tommorrow as they want to play the trend right here and now.

  7. The ET masters of catching falling knives are fun to watch as they bleed out.

Nobody knows the end of a recession until the glory of the former economy is restored. Until then, the recession is still around. And at this time, the DOW notwithstanding, we haven't improved any. In case some of you missed the changes, the DOW is no longer a measure of America's industrial strength.

Jobless recovery is a contradiction. Political bullshit. Should any ET poster still hold onto any political figure for hope of a better economy, you are invited to go back to school and learn something. Turn off the media or you will continue to spin your wheels.

This is no recession. The numbers are plain.

  8. So you're saying that traders and investors want to make money? Makes sense...

  9. I think you are confused as to the definition of a recession. Recession does not simply mean "bad economic times".

  10. No confusion. I barely remember 1934, but we have had lots of recessions since then.

    This is no recession.
