One very interesting thing about our boom... is that Silicon Valley grew up around great educational institutions and our massive boom in Biotech and minor booms in other tech in San Diego seem to have grown around great and affordable education too. UCSD has something like 26 Nobel Prize winning professors and that attracts funding and smart people who wish to work and intern with them. The people who set up the UC system and the UC schools and Stanford deserve a lot of credit.
Ohh wow, SAT scores. Great. Let’s just forget about the welfare dependency, poverty and poor health of right wing states because those Iowa kids can rock the SATs. How does that translate into the overall quality of life out in the Midwest? Not too good.
Fucking c’mon. Ranked by PSAT scores. 8 out of the top 10 are Blue States. 7 out of the bottom decile are Red States; and that is only bc of AZ recently turning Blue. Face facts; Republicans are dumb and Cali is skewed by a huge non native speaking populace.
This result is one more example of why democracy is so important. The unpopular point of view in CA will get another chance to govern.
Libertarian but also helped by the fact that it was very liberal even early on or attracted liberals early on- and traditional liberalism valued free thinking first and foremost. It was not necessarily a bad fit for either. Versus the current breed of "liberals" who just want to find out what big government, big lefty political parties, big social media "influencers", and their select big tech businesses want and then immediately wrap their entire mindset and around it.
Correct... I find myself to be an old school liberal now. I believe Reagan's ideas were only a blip in the history of the GOP and its reverted to is former self... with a pocket of a few people with good ideas. Its back to the party of the Bushes and Rockefellers. so its a choice of neo socialism / crony capitalism vs... crony capitalism and mostly garbage (with a pocket of a few people with good ideas on both sides.) The tax payers and workers of this country really don't have any representation in D.C. ( I would guess that its about 80% of the country though most fall for the bullshit platitudes coming out of the leadership and media.)
What do you think about a DeSantis / Elder in the U.S. Presidential Election or maybe a Trump / Elder ? Hmmm...the more I think about it...I think a Trump / Elder 2024 U.S. Presidential Election will piss off a large part of the Trumpers. P.S. Trump / Pence is no longer a team after Trump told Pence he's no longer his friend. P.S.S. I'm really just glad that the Kardashians didn't get into the Governor's office of California via Caitlyn Jenner. That would be fucked up. wrbtrader
