i have a inspiron 600m i got the SXVGA+ screen with resolution of 1400x1050 at 14.1inch. screen res is a bit bigger than a 17inch lcd. i use it to trade when i am not around my main setup quad 17lcd's its 5lb, pretty light... not bad to carry it around... you can always opt for the 6000, which has a 15.3 wide screen.

Hi there, If you dont mind the size, the Dell XPS M170 and the Dell Inspiron 9400 can be equiped with amazing 17" WUXGA screens. The smaller Inspiron 6000 and Dell LatitudeTM D810 are also available with a WUXGA LCD at 15" - not bad at all IMO. For laptops, I personally prefer a 15" screen. Carrying a 17" around is just not fun I hope that helps! Peace, MrTwo
What do you,ll think about this - ????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Dell XPS 140 1 Intel® Pentium® M 700 sequence processors are designed and built specifically for mobile performance. The XPS M140's 14.1-inch widescreen WXGA LCD display offers 30% more viewable content than a 15-inch XGA display2 and is optimized for DVD movie playback, so you can enjoy movies Up to 80GB3 of storage offers you plenty of space for your multimedia, and by adding an optional external TV tuner,
Dell has been discounting their 9300 laptop recently, down to around $1200, because they are about to introduce the 9400. There are 2 types of 9300 displays, one of which is 17" 1920x1200.
I don't pretend to be a know-all of laptops offering gratuitous/frivolous commentary. I make constant use of two below $1,000 Sempron 3500 laptops and can't understand a thing about why you would need 'dedicated', I guess meaning 'high-performance', graphics cards for trading in laptops. nononsense
