Then why are there 22,000 restrictions I have to deal with? And yet they keep getting them anyway. Regardless of the 22,000 federal state and local gun control laws we ALREADY have on the books.
Speed limit sighs don't prevent those who ignore them from speeding any more than gun laws prevent those who ignore them from illegally obtaining firearms and committing crimes with them.
MOST firearms used in crimes are stolen, not purchased. Almost no one acquiring a firearm for illegal purposes is or will be subjected to a background check even with more gun control laws. On the background check form one fills out there is a question asking if you have any mental health issues. The craziest of the crazy merely has to check the "No" box.
I saw a criminal driving the speed limit the other day. I saw a different criminal stop at a stop sign.
So? Do you think that means they'll obey either if they think its in their best interests not to? The same applies to gun laws.
Laws are implemented as a deterrent. Lawmen are hired to apprehend offenders of the various laws. Please stay tuned, as later I may do a seminar on learning how to tie shoe laces. Then, I might even give some tips on how to train a cranky old donkey.
Like when the new gun control laws are implemented, the lawmen will be dealing with those who think they are above the law.
