IBM/Lenovo is one of the few vendors that I take issue with. I love the hardware (I own a lenovo netbook and swear by it) but they bloat their systems with crazy amounts of add-in software. Best thing you could do would be to start fresh. Format the hard drive(s) and re-install the operating system with a clean install. DO NOT run the Lenovo tools DVD with all the extra "Lenovo software". Also are you connecting wireless or hard-wired?
