Gee, lets put a law in place that will never be followed and has no hope of being enforced.

You think this is a bright idea, do ya?

No opinion on that, I was just pointing out the correlation between increased mask usage and the drop in daily cases. Its a pretty undeniable correlation it would seem.

This is all complete nonsense and a deliberate misinterpretation of what the CDC stated...

UNC cardiologist refutes social media claim that virus death toll is inflated
    https://www.wral.com/coronavirus/un...m-that-virus-death-toll-is-inflated/19263628/

A UNC Health physician wants to set the record straight about posts on social media claiming only 6 percent of COVID-19 deaths are legitimately from the coronavirus.

Twitter removed a post with that false claim over the weekend, but not before it was retweeted by President Donald Trump.

About 183,000 people have died in the United States after testing positive for the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said “for 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned” on the death certificates. That led people on social media to claim the other 94 percent died from underlying conditions, not the virus.

"It doesn’t mean that those were people who are going to get sick and die anyway," said Dr. Christopher Kelly, a cardiologist at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh. "Probably, in most of those cases, they would have been fine and alive right now if they had not contracted COVID-19."

Kelly said the 6 percent of death certificates that list only COVID-19 were likely filled out incorrectly.

"You don’t catch the virus and then just fall over dead," he said. "You get the virus and then develop respiratory failure or pneumonia or multi-organ failure, and then you die. That’s just how death works, and you are supposed to list those things on the death certificate."

"That is because of COVID. Nothing else has substantially changed in the past six months in this country," he said.

Although the number of deaths has declined from highs in April and May, he said COVID-19 continues to pose a serious threat.

"Social distancing and mask wearing work, and we should continue those until we have compelling evidence they are no longer needed, and we do not have that evidence right now," he said.

Yeah... why don't you go read what medical doctors have to say about this 6% nonsense.

100% of those deaths are caused by COVID. COVID causes respiratory failure or pneumonia or multi-organ failure that causes people to die so more than one cause is listed on the death certificate.

Let's put on our happy faces and pretend COVID doesn't exist rather than solving the problem...

Trump health officials blowing $250 million to spin Americans on the COVID-19 pandemic
    https://www.rawstory.com/2020/08/tr...wing-250-million-to-spin-americans-on-the-19/

On Monday, Politico reported that officials at the Department of Health and Human Services are proposing a $250 million contract to reduce Americans’ “despair” over the coronavirus pandemic.

“As the presidential election fast approaches, the Department of Health and Human Services is bidding out a more than $250 million contract to a communications firm as it seeks to ‘defeat despair and inspire hope’ about the coronavirus pandemic, according to an internal HHS document obtained by POLITICO,” reported Daniel Lippman.

The contract will reportedly also direct resources towards “sharing best practices for businesses to operate in the new normal and instill confidence to return to work and restart the economy,” as well as inform the public about therapeutic and vaccine information and the phases of reopening businesses.

“The contract comes as the administration’s health agencies face growing questions about their independence in recent weeks,” said the report. “The head of the Food and Drug Administration, Stephen Hahn, admitted that he overstated the benefits of convalescent plasma at a news conference last week with President Donald Trump, and health officials have flip-flopped on key warnings about the virus, including the value of masks to protect Americans.”

Trump has drawn controversy for his repeated efforts to downplay the threat of the virus and push states to let businesses reopen more quickly than experts have called for.
