The rate of new cases is surging to record levels in Texas....

Texas is heading down a dangerous path, local leaders warn as coronavirus cases and hospitalizations surge

As Texas' coronavirus cases and hospitalizations continue to break records for a second straight week, leaders and health experts in the largest cities are warning that the state is heading down a dangerous path and hospitals could soon be overwhelmed.

Gov. Greg Abbott struck a more urgent tone Monday, calling the increases in hospitalizations and cases across the state unacceptable. He said the state would only shut down businesses again as a last resort but cautioned that if trends don't reverse in the coming weeks, he'd be forced to take action.

"To state the obvious, COVID-19 is now spreading at an unacceptable rate in Texas, and it must be corralled," Abbott said during a news conference at the Texas Capitol in Austin.

You chart is meaningless without the dates and the source of the data as an url.

Any date after June 8th at this point is meaningless since the total death count is not completed.

  3. You don't understand how covid deaths are calculated. There were 10 dead who obviously had Covid. Now we must wait 14 days to examine every single death of that day to see if there is any way, however remote, to tie that death to Covid. You have now been enlightened. Resistance is futile.

Actually in some states it is because counties have up to 14 days to file death certificates.

I just showed you the chart where cases are not surging in Texas. However, I would very much like them to surge across the fruited plain. ---among healthy folks. These numbers are lower than I think would be best for us, but it does show that people are following instructions pretty well.

I just showed you that from the beginning of June (and earlier) that deaths are on the decline. You are on the wrong side of this and I am embarrassed for you

People can read the article, read the comments from the Texas public health experts, and look at the links to the case and hospitalization statistics for the state which are obviously increasing and accelerating.

So you just made up some data with no source? Provide the source url. Without dates the chart is meaningless.

At the moment---FALSE. --Mind you, I would like the case numbers to increase rapidly and get any second wave behind us.
