Let's take a look at Florida for Apr, May, Jun. While there case increase has gone up a bit, their death increases have tumbled. The increase in cases, while by no means any kind of spike may be caused by massive increases in testing in Florida. Look at those deaths though. It's obvious that the virus is running through the healthy population now and not through the Vulnerable. This is fantastic news! Florida will be one of the states that achieves herd immunity earlier.
Folks, as I have indicated before in real time, this pandemic has been over for a long, long time. However, Government response has not, and will not be for quite a while.
Yeah.... why don't you print the case counts from countries that have successfully dealt with COVID-19 by using proper lockdowns. Let's have you start with New Zealand.... and then you can go explore Germany, South Korea, and other countries that have been leaders in their response. And let's look at new cases and deaths on a daily basis, not totals over time which are nearly meaningless.
And lose even more freedom than we lost here? No Thanks. By the way, the German numbers are very similar to ours. New Zealand's population is well spread out and not a lot of testing has gone on. South Korea's numbers may or may not be accurate but freedom was stamped out totally there. This is America. This is a free people.
Well then I guess you believe that New Zealand stamped out both the virus and freedom. Fortunately New Zealand is completely free & open now that they stamped out COVID-19 in a short period of time with a proper lockdown. They also did so with much less economic impact than other countries by following proper public health measures to eliminate COVID-19.
Buy1Sell2 makes the best argument. It is not the number of cases that tested positive but the number of deaths that is important. Testing positive only means the virus is present in your system. It says nothing about the quantity of the virus and can the positively tested individual spread the virus to others. It is unfortunate that the virus message has been so garbled or just plain wrong that a significant percentage of the population, not understanding the meaning of community spread, think you can get the virus by just walking around.
Seeing that 12% of the people who test positive for COVID-19 are hospitalized based on earlier data and that many land up with significant long term health issues --- trying to portray that it is only the number of deaths that matter is simply insane. In the U.S. the CFR (Case Fatality Rate) today is at 5.12% (123,126 deaths / 2,404,951 cases) -- a good number of those who test positive will die. Promoting the concept of allowing COVID-19 to run wild through a community is not just merely bad public health policy but another form of eugenics.
Let's see how things are going in Texas. oh...it's a complete cluster-f@ck. With record Texas COVID-19 hospitalizations, Gov. Greg Abbott warns of more restrictions if cases rise https://www.dallasnews.com/news/pub...-coronavirus-cases-hospitalizations-in-texas/
