I think if there is an assault the 991 area should hold. 991-994. That is more than your stop. I think some smart money did some good volume around 993. In any case good luck.
"FV" ~ 893 Holding short ES from yesterday. Unless I get stopped out or something spooks me going into the weekend, I will likely hold the short.
Yes, although if my stops were not mental I would have been stopped out (while I am awake they are mental, when I am sleeping stop loss are native on GLOBEX). On number announcements I make a mental note of waiting one minute until after the announcement. That gives not only me a chance to think about the number in the context of my trade, but for all market participants as well. This sometimes means my stop losses around major announcements are higher than what I set for myself when the trade is initiated. I think it is useful to enter pre-market, but I think it is very dangerous to exit pre-market on loss (Ok on profit target.) I moved my stop loss a bit to 3.5 after seeing the reaction of SIFs to the number. Let the market tell me where my stop should be. Even 991 maybe be too low. 993 seems to be the logical stop loss.
"FV" ~901. Creeping up on me. Gulp Still have plenty of room for downside in SPX, but hey, I will take every inch of "FV" spread edge I can get.
