Nikkei opened down 1%. Another nice call Nitro. What else do you have for us? Make sure you send me your NCAA tournament picks. Those will fetch top dollar.
All is pretty much as expected. Nikkei going down 3%, and counting. I don't see what can stop -5% over the next few days. The uncertainty is immense. I wish I were wrong, the world needs to step up and help. US SIFs are holding in as best they can. I have no idea what the impact of this is. I am certain my model is going to give outrageous long edge, but I am not certain it should be taken...
Get off the crack pipe. You said the Nikkei would open down 5%. It didn't, it opened down 1% and is currently down 2%. Spoos are down 1/2% and you were calling for a collapse. I hope you are more honest with yourself then with us. So far nothing has gone as you expected. I don't expect you to admit that.
It has lots of little wins, and then it gives back a bunch on a few days. Overall, it is profitable, but given the risk taken, it is nothing to write home about. The next month will be very telling. I have not fixed what went wrong (because I don't know what the key idea is yet), so if the parameter inverts again, I am up the you know what. If my model can break even in this tumultuous geopolitical environment, it will be some moral victory imo. Some may say it should kill in this environment, but fading systems I think lose in this sort of regime. Not sure... I won't ever give up because I know I am close, but it may be one of those situations where it will always seem that way and I hate to see what the epitaph on my gravestone will be in this case, "Here lies nitro, ..."
"Japan nuclear health risks low, won't blow abroad" http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42059194/ns/world_news-asia-pacific/ A not trivial bit of good news, imo.
Nitro, weren't you lecturing us a few weeks back that you ALWAYS take your signals and you DO NOT make discretionary trades? Am I missing something here? Because now you have a lot of moving parts here outside of just your model's outputs, which is your ability to make discretionary calls.
ya'll must be retired millionaires collecting a fat pension and clipping coupons, cause you sure do waste a lot of time talking trash I ate my model
Fading is sooooooooo 2008. Lol. It will be nice when it comes back in its fullest form. There are still daily fading opportunities in equities. But right now, the trend really is your friend...or you can keep on believing zerohedge.
