I don't have a problem with his trying, I just thought the post about Galileo et al, showed a disturbed mind, generally people who try to build perpetual motion machines believe the world is against them. Markets are inherently uncertain and unpredictable, the EMH is a load of crap, but it does not change the fact that markets are not predictable. I accept that if someone succeeds in predicting them, then clearly I am wrong, but I won't hold my breath. Also I was not criticizing Nitro, just commenting on his state of mind.
Impossible at this point to criticize him as he has gone AWOL. Fairly certain that Dr. Theodore John "Ted" Kaczynski had all the same intellectual characteristics as nitro. Havard university... University of Michigan... PhD Mathematics... geometric function theory as a "specialty"... PhD thesis "Boundary Functions" The hiding "recluse" phase of his life is just getting underway.
Well, you've seemingly accomplished the impossible - congratulations. ...and if you're indeed correct about the recluse phase, you should probably lay low for a while, can't imagine you're too far from the top of his list.
(nltro?) not nitro, you take a name like his and follow nitro thread. You like something in this thread.
Indeed I do. The markets doing exactly what they are designed to do. Capital formation? FORGET IT. Transfer of risk? FORGET IT. Fleecing of the weak? BRING IT ON BABY!
I do agree with much of what you've said on this thread, and I acknowledge that you were 100% correct to short the market the instant Nitro threw in the towel on NFV... however your comparing him to the unibomber is just WAY off base! Kaczynski's mental disease was that he suffered from an overwhelming mass of negative energy. This unrestrained negativity ultimately caused him to lash out at society with horrific violent acts. Nitro, on the other hand is crippled by the exact opposite problem- He's currently too optimistic (not pessimistic!), deluding himself constantly that reality is better than it actually is, and that he has some type of edge in the market when in reality he has nothing. So any comparison between Nitro's state of mind and Kaczynski is just way off base, IMO. See what I mean?
Not only was it a perfect short, but 45 handles lower I covered just as nitro was piling into new shorts. 30 handles straight up.
