I'm the VZ he was referring to and the magic pencil is in reference to me holding up a pencil across the screen for when I sometimes chime in there with an ES prognostication. He meant nothing by it lol... it's a (B!'s thread) inside joke.

Maybe they gave it you as a newbie trader as a quality stock?

Dude I don't know what your point is aside from trying to start an argument... but go back 3 years to the day in 2020.

    KR is up 42%

By comparison, the DOW is up37%
The Russell 2000 is up 36%
    Dollar General is DOWN 13%
    WMT is up 29.7%
And even a quality tech stock like CRM... is only up 17%

    So whatever.
    The SPX is up 47%.
Not a bad job keeping up for a grocery store don't ya think?

There's two sides to every market.
Short it if you don't like it.

At least I try to help around here.
Wtf do you do around here except trade ES in the middle of the night and make snide remarks to the folks on B1's thread?

Kroger is a solid stock for an IRA. I realize you're green behind the ears and more than likely clueless as to to stock analysis... so you get a pass for now.

    EDIT:
Oh yeah.... add that 2%/year divy.... and it might just beat SPX too.

I bet there’s selling pressure on KR because of the Albertsons acquisition.

If the deal falls thru because of the FTC, I think Kroger will spike up huge.
They've been deleveraging their balance sheet in advance of this ever since it was announced and they have their net debt/ebitda down to like 1.25 I think. That is LOW. If it falls thru, they'll have to either buyback a ton of shares, or pay a big fat special dividend.

wish i am a gen z. thanks but no thanks.

work as stock boys in my teenage time when minimum wage was 4.25, any grocery chain is not desirable career path, nor investment for a long term.

kr got no exposures in ny and just one store in fl, just can't compete with local store like Publix or Trader's Joe.
