    Are these people crazy?

A deadly strain of bird flu with the potential to infect and kill millions of people has been created in a laboratory by European scientists – who now want to publish full details of how they did it.

The discovery has prompted fears within the US Government that the knowledge will fall into the hands of terrorists wanting to use it as a bio-weapon of mass destruction.

Some scientists are questioning whether the research should ever have been undertaken in a university laboratory, instead of at a military facility.

The US Government is now taking advice on whether the information is too dangerous to be published.

"The fear is that if you create something this deadly and it goes into a global pandemic, the mortality and cost to the world could be massive," a senior scientific adviser to the US Government told The Independent, speaking on condition of anonymity.

"The worst-case scenario here is worse than anything you can imagine."

For the first time the researchers have been able to mutate the H5N1 strain of avian influenza so that it can be transmitted easily through the air in coughs and sneezes. Until now, it was thought that H5N1 bird flu could only be transmitted between humans via very close physical contact.....

It's only "fair" that our enemies have the new flu as well, no?

This is more evidence that our government is wasting money chasing the wrong dragons. The biological weapons that probably exist right now would most likely make nukes look like a joke. As always the government is behind the times and chasing the wrong damn thing.

Nukes present a huge problem to the person who shoots one off, you cant use the land afterwords for many decades, and it is easier to track nuclear material. Biological weapons on the other hand give the country that uses them the chance to wipe out a population and then move in right after they have killed everyone off, and they would be virtually undetectable.

In my opinion we are much more likely to see mass destruction from a biological weapon, or an EMP, then a nuke.

  4. Those scientists are a bunch of c**nts. Why would they bother creating something like that? It can only end badly.

And releasing the formula is even more stupid. What assholes.

    I agree.....

And this is only what we are hearing about publicly..... imagine some of the shit that is going on behind the scenes that we have no clue about.....

I would be amazed if we (as humans) somehow managed to survive another century without killing ourselves off.

  6. and you're worried about nukes...

  7. Hate to say it, but eventually when joblessness and technological obsolscence become chronic (people haven't really figured it out yet), one of the "planners" might just decide that knocking out a pretty significant percentage of the world population is about all that is left to "turn things around".

  8. Just goes to show how little you know ..... maxi.
every time your little nose '' runs'' you cry for Obama to come and comfort you. .

  9. Now take exactly what you said and apply it to the shadow banking system. The quote fits nicely doesn't it? We hear about the need to prop up this, bail out that, more Quant Easing, yet 99 out of 100 people have absolutely no clue about the size and scope of the "SBS". Further proof that the whole notion of "transparency" is a cruel joke.

The problem is going to come when the world has a bad crop year. There will be a big need to reduce the world population then.
