I can see your argument. But... "must always be subordinated to Sharia'ah" is a very strong clause.

"All other juridical works which have been written during more than thirteen centuries are very rich and indispensable, but they must always be subordinated to the Shari’ah and open to reconsideration by all Muslims.”

its like when we state the Constitution is the Supreme law of the land. There is not much wiggle room to say but other systems of law can run with it in parallel or greater importance.

If I said Catholic Canon has been around for 2000 years and all other laws must always be subordinated to Catholic Canon and that catholics should be open to reconsideration that other laws really are inferior, would you say I was not a Catholic Canon first person?

  2. I fault Trump for falling into an obvious trap, but the fact remains that the Khan show was fraudulent political theater, predictably swooned over by the media.

This is democrat/liberal politics 101. Find an appealing "victim" of whatever it is you are opposing, whether it is securing our borders or cuts to PBS or putting limits on welfare cheats. Parade the sympathetic victim before the media, then hiss "how daaaare you" when someone points out that they are atypical, or that national policy can't be made on the basis of one person or that there are equally compelling stories on the other side. Turn the victim into a SJW icon, eg Sandra Fluke, and book them onto universities and cable shows.

It is predictable and happens over and over. As I have pointed out before, this is why running a political novice for president is almost always a bad idea. It would never occur to a normal person to patronizingly say" I don't hold any ill will", when you are the one blatantly lying about the reason their sons were killed. For a sociopath like Hillary, it is as natural as breathing.

This Khan episode is a bit unusual because Khan's backstory is melting more quickly than normal. The grieving parents of a dead hero are far more sympathetic than a shady Pakistani immigration lawyer who campaigns for sharia law and his wife who attaches her name to op eds obviously written for her which make absurd claims like all religions are treated equally under islam. The more we see of Kahn, the more he comes across as the sort of angry, irrational muslim that we really do not want more of in this country.

Trump is not crazy... he is just very typical of a successful person his age from Queens. Jamica Estates if my mom is correct.

I see a lot Trump qualities in my Dad and his collegues and even a relative or 2. (my Dad passed away 4 years ago.) They competed at trading, tennis, golf, politics, any argument or any game any where, any time. It almost seems that is what they believed it took. Crush the competition. Some of my relatives mellowed as they got older... but my Dad and some of his best friends did not.

    Maybe they were right...

There were lots of crooked and backstabbing SOBs you had to beat down in that city on the way to the top of any profession. They really believed you never gave the other guy an edge or an inch. Wall street is famous for ripping the other sides face off in deals if you do not know what you are doing, don't hold out the prospect of bigger future deals or don't have the guts to play hard ball.

Trump likes to win... and he hates it when the other side is scoring points... so he verbally hits back at that person... instead of just throwing the verbal haymakers at hillary.

The only intervention that I think should work on a person similar to Trump would be from some world class strategist he might respect like a grand master in chess... who could tell trump to not worry about a pawn if he can get or a knight or a rook. Or Joe Torre coming in and saying... to no worry about walking Khan or some annoying reporter... just concentrate on throwing the next pitch to hillary for a strike

I didn't say the Drumpf spokesperson's statement was ironic. Pretty clear it's stupid, though.

Tom Barrack, Peter Thiel, Ann Coulter and Matt Drudge he should listen to, I don't think he trusts Gingrich but I doubt The Donald even wants to be President , he's going to mail it in but twist it to his advantage.
