Were you able to reverse your diabetic condition? I ask because I have heard of many cases of people on the carnivore diet completely reversing their Type 2 diabetes. BTW, 25g of carbs per day is ridiculously low, that is exceptional and I commend your discipline!
Magna, my cybertronic friend, you eat what you love, but in moderation. THAT IS MOST IMPORTANT! Everything in moderation, and you can consume what you wish. There's a song for that, of course. *sigh*
How much do you think is the maximum allowable (per kilogram or pound of bodyweight or lean bodyweight, whichever) before that sets in?
It depends. A lot of factors contribute; frequency, grams/meal, etc. Best to eat sources high in sulfhydryl groups (eat eggs), basically. Cannot contribute to gluconeogenesis.
Yes, I figured there was a number of variables at play. I guess the takeaway is that keto almost certainly oversteps.
"The food that you're eating shouldn't have an ingredient list. It shouldn't come in a box. It shouldn't come in a bag. You should know just by looking at it what's in it." -- Dr. Philip Ovadia
Dr. Shawn Baker, an orthopedic surgeon who follows a carnivore diet, posted this meme with the comment: "Plant based docs be like..." Apropos the above meme is a quote from a few years ago by heart surgeon Dr. Philip Ovadia: "Half of the patients I operate on have normal to low cholesterol levels." .
