Kerry Insults Troops.

  1. Yes, I believe it was about Bush's stupid war, and how those who aren't smart, and not now in the military might up dying in Iraq...

I am not defending Kerry, he is a putz in the way he deals with things. I think Kerry would do better to just say what he thinks, and stop all the spin after the fact when people don't like it...

If he had any common sense, he would not back down from the factual nature of his comments, and his hatred for the war in Iraq and American men and women dying for Bush's ego and agendas...

When Kerry was young and had nothing, it was easy to stand up and say what he thought, now like so many other politicians, they are all about image management...and fear of offending some block of voters.

  3. Nonsense, of course it was a botched joke about Bush. The entire speech, the entire context of that sentence was about bush. Regardless, no sane politician planning to run for reelection/president would ever deliberately say this about the troops even if that was how he felt, that's political suicide.

It's a non-issue anyway, much as you try, you rightwingers will get absolutely no mileage out of this whole controversy. At least the betting men are betting that republican chances have not improved since yesterday.

I don't think he meant to insult them either, but my God this was like throwing red meat to a pack of dogs. He should have just apologized. Btw, the only one to make this an issue is Kerry himself by making a stupid, insulting and hurtful statement during a campaign and then offering that ridiculous and convoluted excuse that it was "botched joke". He makes Bush look smart.

  6. What an insane thing to grab a hold of. Does any sane person really think that Kerry or any other political type would bad mouth the troops? Kerry probably shouldn't have even made the reference to Bush in such a way, although everyone else seems to.

Obviously Kerry meant that by not studying adequately the history of the middle east, that might account for Bush and friends ending up in the middle of this mess in Iraq.

That being said, Kerry should know better than to use such slight nuances to make a point, pretty stupid politically I think.

Kerry was bad mouthing uneducated people. And he happens to think the majority of the people who sign up for the military had very limited opportunities.

It was an elitist thing to think (although it may be true) and a very dumb thing to say as a politician.

This guy has rocks for brains and his grades were worse than GWB.

  8. What Kerry said was a Fruedian slip.

Thats what he and many elitest libs really think they just try to cover it with "we support the troops".

They don't and everyone knows it and this only reinforces that conclusion.

  9. Anyone who doubts liberal media bias should have seen all the cable lefties trying to cover for Kerry last night. Chris Matthews is really just a total dickhead. At least with Hannity, Rush and O'Reilly they don't pretend to be non-partisan.

  10. It honestly doesn't matter if you, say, attack 9/11 widows or say that someone is faking Parkinson's disease. It's just offense/defense. Reporters have decided that printing reactions is their job, and that's life until their circulation drops to the point where they can no longer pay themselves to live in a dreamland composed of their own heroism at reprinting press releases. And let's be honest and not pretend like this is Kerry's fault; a gaffe like this was inevitable, and if Kerry hadn't said it the Republicans would have manufactured something else.

So here it is, I'll say it myself, "If you don't get educated, you may end up stuck in Iraq." This is not from Kerry. This is from me. And that's the truth. Don't blame me. Blame the guy who started this war.

The ultimate respect for the troops, is to find a way to get them home.
