Exactly. If I were a juror in this case, I would vote in favor of Kyle. In life and death situations, the only question is, was your life in danger that you had to pull that trigger? Those thugs chasing after him, had a choice to walk away as he was already a long ways off going away from them. They chose to chase him and try to hit him from behind. They were the aggressors. Kyle was not threatening any of them at that point. He was already moving away, all by himself.
There were no less than 3 police cruisers headed his way as well. He raised his hands after the shooting, the rifle draped on his neck and muzzle pointed down the pavement.

    It was 90% perfect.

Despite the initial error of letting someone hit him in the head it was classic tactical withdrawal.

Keep those legs moving. Stop and squeeze off a few rounds occasionally but keep moving as best you can. He approached the cops so perfectly that they literally waved him off when he tried to make contact with them. I'm sure he elected to just leave at that point and enjoy a last joint and a good night of sleep.

All expected. When you have people going insane with weapons around and no police to speak of, people will die.
This is all an interesting strategy by the US democrats to get elected. I guess they really hope more will be dead.

Short on police, long on body bags?

check out holmes dealin out a patented roundhouse slice to the noggin' with a skateboard to an armed adversary, then follows that up by grabbin the rifle to try to disarm him. not bulletproof.

He can't claim self defense if he was actively breaking the law.

    https://www.grgblaw.com/wisconsin-trial-lawyers/wisconsin-self-defense-rule

Subsection (b) The presumption described in par. (ar) does not apply if any of the following applies:

    1. The actor was engaged in a criminal activity or was using his or her dwelling, motor vehicle, or place of business to further a criminal activity at the time.

Good luck with rape in prison.
