My mistake, that should read you CAN drink tap water. I have traveled very extensively and if the locals drink it, I do. Really it's only tropical places prone to flooding that are guaranteed to be a problem, though hotels restaurants usually have decent sterilising filters. I prefer the cooler mountains where its near always good.
Sure, not counting when it goes on fire with natural gas, lead, dioxins. Cuyahoga River was impressive. The US is a perfectly sevicable country but it's foolish to see it as way ahead with water. Everybody wants decent water and they usually get it. Economics/climate etc. allowing.
Foreigners who have not developed a robust gut biome. That's a lifestyle choice really I guess though you can get reset with a heavy antibiotics course.
