nononsense: First of all, ABN charges nothing for their Kawabunga API. So, you can just test your applications from a demo account. 2nd, FIX is industry standard. This means also clearing houses like instinet, refco, man, whoever use FIX to interface with front end platforms like x_trader, instaquote, etc. If you want to learn more about FIX this here is a starting point: http://www.fixprotocol.org
