Do you think maybe she should have consulted a Republican leaning lawyer? One who'd explain that boys will be boys?
Right. So she's delusional while he's not. Even one of his female friends came forward and said that he was occasionally very, very drunk. No one accused Ford of being drunk. But it's her memory that's suspect. Right. And his outright lies about definitions in his yearbook?, Ah, but you know how it is: Supreme Court nominees will be Supreme Court nominees...
I havent claimed he is telling the truth either.... I would never bury someone on this kind of nonsense 36 years out when someone has a "Metoo" moment, and talks to democrats....... Democrats think the accusation is so credible that they used it as their last minute hail mary......... and now prominent liberals are claiming Kavenaugh is a rapist.....Give me a break
Its kind of ironic when you think about it, even if Kavanaugh doesnt make it to the supreme court, he will set the "Precedent" that will be followed in politics for decades.
Here's the thing though.... the Dems may have shot themselves in the foot here... I think IF the investigation pretty much reveals nothing new... Collins and Murkowski will be definite yes votes. Think about it.... they'll have no choice now after all this, they jumped onboard the "further investigation" bandwagon and if it proves inconsequential, they have basically painted themselves into a corner of having to vote yes. Heitcamp maybe not, Manchin yes, Flake yes. Odds are looking good for Cavanaugh.
Could backfire if Trump kneecaps the agreed-to investigation. They could say not all the facts are known and dump the carcass at Trump's feet.
Certainly is suspect. Remembered four boys as attackers for the therapist, but later that became two. Remembered people being at the party- including her best friend who wants to support her- but none of them remember being there. She can't remember ever receiving an offer by the Senate committee to have staff interview her in Cali, but the Senate has documented evidence that they reached out to her in all sorts of ways in the attempt.
Thats what im getting at, Murkowski and Collins are either on board, or they vote him down, in which case, for decades, any person under any circumstance can throw out an accusation and your toast..... Kavanaugh is making precedent, either you allow the #metoo movement to turn into a facist movement where anyone accused of anything deserves to be ruined...... or you stand up to that and say, im sorry you need evidence if you are going to ruin someones life after 36 years.... Regardless of whether or not he wins.... his case sets the precedent here for decades..... irony at its finest.
I dont know. Pretty much true for Flake and Manchin and some of the other fence-sitters who were leaning toward Kavanaugh before the fake allegations came up. Problem with Collins and Murkowski is that they had bigtime problems with their voters and were undecided even before the allegations came up so if the fbi "clears" that issue up it only gets them back to where they were before...problems with their supporters on the abortion issue, etc. Of the two, I would suspect that Collins will vote for Kavanaugh. Collins is a rino and she is boring but she is very much a steady-eddy type and not an ideologue or a political hack and as a country girl from Maine she is very much predisposed toward respecting Kavanaughs previous good behavior on the bench both personally and legally. But that cuts both ways. She will take points away if something worse comes up, but she is looking for a way to vote for him. Murkowski is less reliable. She is a hack and if she needs to oppose Kav because the Alaska Natives Association opposes him and the women oppose him on abortion and she is not electable without them, then she will do what her little hack mind requires her to do. I dont know what projects are in the pipeline for funding in alaska which are dependent on Trump. But those are the types of factors she looks at. Note further that Collins will require at least some standard's of evidence before voting against Kavanaugh, unlike some of the hacks. Even though she is a republican, she voted against the impeachment of Clinton after arguing that undoubtedly some reprehensible things had happened but that none of us were there and it was unclear how that would impact his job as president. I am not asking whether anyone agrees with that view, just sayin what her disposition is and how you either get or do not get her vote.
