Times reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly wrote an article in Sunday’s paper drawing from their new book, “The Education of Brett Kavanaugh: An Investigation.” “A classmate, Max Stier, saw Mr. Kavanaugh with his pants down at a different drunken dorm party, where friends pushed his penis into the hand of a female student. Mr. Stier, who runs a nonprofit organization in Washington, notified senators and the F.B.I. about this account, but the F.B.I. did not investigate and Mr. Stier has declined to discuss it publicly,” Pogrebin and Kelly wrote in the story’s original version, adding that they “corroborated the story with two officials who have communicated with Mr. Stier.” The article left out a crucial fact that was included in the book: The alleged victim reportedly has no recollection of the incident in question. The woman “refused to discuss the incident” with the authors, and “several of her friends said she does not recall it,” Pogrebin and Kelly wrote in the book. (RELATED: Nine Times The Media Pushed Misinformation About Kavanaugh) The Times published the correction after facing a backlash for the omission. “An earlier version of this article, which was adapted from a forthcoming book, did not include one element of the book’s account regarding an assertion by a Yale classmate that friends of Brett Kavanaugh pushed his penis into the hand of a female student at a drunken dorm party. The book reports that the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say that she does not recall the incident. That information has been added to the article,” reads an editor’s note tacked onto the bottom of the story. The story now includes the line: “the female student declined to be interviewed and friends say she does not recall the episode.” National Review’s John McCormack described the Times’ omission as one of the “worst cases of journalistic malpractice that I can recall.” (Doug Mills-Pool/Getty Images) Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh attend the State of the Union address (Doug Mills-Pool/Getty Images) Pogrebin and Kelly didn’t immediately return emails inquiring why they left out the exculpatory evidence from the original article. Democrats seized on the Times article to call for Kavanaugh’s impeachment. Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, California’s junior senator, tweeted Kavanaugh’s “place on the Court is an insult to the pursuit of truth and justice. He must be impeached.” “Last year the Kavanaugh nomination was rammed through the Senate without a thorough examination of the allegations against him,” Democratic Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, also a 2020 candidate, wrote on Twitter Sunday. “Confirmation is not exoneration, and these newest revelations are disturbing. Like the man who appointed him, Kavanaugh should be impeached.” Pogrebin and Kelly also rehashed a previous accusation from Debbie Ramirez, one of Kavanaugh’s former classmates at Yale, who accused Kavanaugh of drunkenly displaying his penis in her face at a party. Pogrebin and Kelly’s essay didn’t mention that their Times colleagues reported during Kavanaugh’s confirmation in 2018 that Ramirez “could not be certain Mr. Kavanaugh was the one who exposed himself” to her. Aw, isn't this cute? "Storytime for Tards" They'll believe anything a Clinton lawyer tells them. Amazing!
We see republicans in their usual fetal position, keeping quiet and hoping it will all go away. Why don't they go on the offensive for once, ie start demanding that Ruth Bader Ginsberg be examined by independent physicians to determine her fitness to continue on the Court? Or just demanding that she be impeached? Or start small, and try to impeach one of those lunatic Obama district court judges? And if some rich parents can be prosecuted and sent to prison for fiddling with their kids SAT's, why can't a prosecutor look into Warren's fraudulent claim of Native American status to score a cush Harvard Law professorship? Given her modest academic record, she certainly wouldn't have been picked on merit.
Note to self: In addition to always clarifying the word "you" in any post to Ocho Cinco so he doesn't think I am actually talking about him and not the general "you", I must also detail whenever sarcasm is used so that Here4money grasps it.
The issue with Kavanaugh is that he is not conservative. This other accuser garbage is just that.---Rubbish.
