Well I for one could feel the guiding hands of Jesus and the Virgin Mary in Kamala's presence during the interview. (guess what that is). She is building, in a fraction of the time candidates normally have. It was bland and safe, the next outing will be more bread and circuses. But she can talk and is not an imbicile as Fox and ANN etc. were shovelling to make Trump feel less worried. The reason we don't clamour is that we don't fixate on star players as saviours. Kamala, somebody else, whatever as long as they are committed to preserving the appearance of norms that we ourselves have built our identity on, like honour, loyalty, sacrifice, you know stuff for suckers and losers.

She needed a support animal, needed to have the questions fed to her before the interview and had a team of people coaching her what to say. With all those advantages, so might have delivered a C to C- interview. Where is the part where I am supposed to be impressed?

Remember, these are the same people who told us Joe was sharper than ever, nothing to worry about. The same people who wouldn't have considered Kamala a serious candidate until the debate disaster for Biden, and the complete remake of Kamala. In a matter of days Joe was kicked to the curb, Kamala had her past totally scrubbed and viola, girl power hit the scene. Actually it has been quite impressive if you're into fictional characters.
What happened was she was a proper sneeky keeping a low VP profile which didn't make sense for a while. She gets where she wants to go with a fraction of a percent of the noise Donny makes. That is a good quality. Joe was capable of doing a second term with a lot of naps. But it wasn't ideal and statistically the odds of men as old as Donny and Joe passing to their VP was not ideal. The secret of success is changing plans at the right time.
