I am no expert on Amish people but I do know that at around 16 is when the young girls AND boys begin to socialize. And these young girls and boys can meet many of their peers and can choose someone they wish to marry. It is a mutual agreement and the girls husband is not chosen for her. But this sect we are talking about arrange marriages of 14 year old girls to much older men who already have many wives. And the girl has no say over who she marrys. Give me a break.
