I've long told the AOWM that I should be allowed to have a shoulder fired missile launcher, because under the constitution I am allowed to have it. But, the AOWM want to interpret the constitution according to what suits them at the moment. Common sense got nothing to do with the conversation.
No, you originally wrote that the AR-15 "is a disguised m16." It is not. I just gave you a reason, the purpose of the Second Amendment. The fact that you still have your head up your ass doesn't negate it.
Totally see your point. That is why I talk about balance between our rights and safety. I believe with all my passion that anyone who owns a firearm should train on how to use it. I go to range at least once a month, sometimes twice or 3 times, ammo is really cheap. This will solve 10 bullet per clip issue for the most part. Btw, a lot of cops do not train regularly and try to avoid sniper status. When I was shown their firing exam, I was shocked.
Oh, no, brother Duke. Oh, no. I'm sorry, brother Duke, no moderation is allowed here in ET P&R. You got to be either an AOWM or a liberal. LOL
I misused a word, meant to say modified. Why insults all of a sudden? 2nd amendment does not talk about bazookas, why not allowing them? 2nd amendment gives us the right to bear arms. It is up to the government and the supreme court of the land to define what constitutes as Arms.
He's a fanatic. No amount of facts or logic will persuade him. An AR or AK is considered by many home defense experts to be the ideal home defense weapon. Better than a pistol and better than a shotgun. They're more accurate, handle more easily and pose less of a threat of overpenetration. They look scary to liberals though, so that will trump any contrary facts. Anyway, the onus is not on those of us who wish to keep our constitutional rights and maintain our moral right of self defense. Liberals always want to burden the responsible, law-abiding members of society. I haven't heard one proposal from them about closer monitoring of mentally disturbed people or requiring mental health pprofessionals to report possibly dangerous people. They would fight that kind of thing tooth and nail. They are even against drug testing of welfare recipients. It stigmatizes them, they claim. And of course, they bitterly oppose the one thing that has been proven effective in stopping mass killings, concealed carry.
This will be the battle I was referring to a couple days ago, which is why if I were the NRA I'd want a seat at the negotiating table. They lose that seat if they take a hard line position that "arms" means anything they want it to mean.
Because you're being an obtuse, disingenuous moron by posting as if your pointy headed, feel-good "ideas" should trump the Second Amendment, while claiming you support it. I told you its intent and either you've ignored that or can't grasp it but either way, your "thinking" is clearly at odds with it.
