Just realized we wasted money fighting cold war

  1. As in the efficiency of these ports before the takeover and after. Was there a danger before? Will that danger be directly increased by the UAE takeover? Not political OPINIONATED retorts unrelated to the subject matter at hand. I was not taking a side, I was simply suggesting that it is in the realm of possibility that this takeover will affect nothing more than the uninformed's political rants, and the volume at which they insist to persist.

Open your eyes and read between the lines, I wasn't attacking anybody's opinion. I was simply stating that the source of the information for which this argument is being based, is possibly not valid or at a very minimum incomplete. Information and news are NOT one in the same.

Want my opinion? I didn't think so but I choose to share anyway. Free Market = Global Economy. Hypocrisy = Hatred. If my President says yes to this takeover, my people get pissed. If he says no then our allies, along with most of the Middle East in general, get pissed. hypocrisy... creating global hatred of Americans for over 230 years. Politically speaking, this is a lose-lose situation. Economically speaking, it probably will make little difference in relation to the current conditions. The media says this is a very important issue, real headline worthy material. Their job is to make you both scared and mad. Why, because it sells man. Plain and simple. The more pissed you are the more you watch, read, and listen to what they have to say. Sex sells Entertainment. Greed sells Investments. Fear sells the News. period.

There is a need for concern.

Bin Ladens 9/11 strike was an attack to bring down the entire U.S. financial system thus crippling our country and destroying our way of life as we know it. It's purpose was NOT simply the collapse of the Twin Towers and the killing of some Americans, as some people wrongly assume.

A coordinated nuclear attack, on or near, our major Port Hubs on both east and west coasts, would completely devastate our economy by contaminating all surrounding shipping areas. Halting import/export operations at these points of entry permanently.

The Coast Guard which is responsible for our port security is a joke. Currently able to check less than 1% of the containers arriving in port on a daily basis, should not be of comfort to anyone. By it's own admission, under-trained, underpaid, and under staffed, this agency will clearly be overwhelmed when the attack arrives. We should not lull ourselves with a false sense of security because an attack has not yet occurred. There is a real danger here.

Personally I'm bombarded daily on television and radio on how I should understand THEM ( UAE and other arab nations) regarding cartoon issues, their rights, their religion, their needs, etc...etc...etc... At this time, If the UAE doesn't understand Americans concern for national security after 9/11...I say fuck em.

Also, Bin Laden's time frame for the destruction of our country is calculated in years, not in days. Make no mistake, this IS his ultimate desire. And he is willing to take whatever time needed to achieve his stated goals.

    Respectfully,
    Dave

  5. Are you suggesting that this is likely to happen? Or that it is simply just within the realm of possibilities? It sounds to me as if you've already convinced yourself that this is a likely or probable outcome.

How many nations have access to nuclear technologies? Is the UAE one of them? Do you think a nation of only 800,000 naturalized citizens would ever consider launching a nuclear attack against the USA? 50% of the population of the UAE aren't even of arab decent, they're south asian.

The UAE is also the third largest producer of oil & natural gas in the Persian Gulf, even though the nation's entire population isn't even half of New York City's. This is one of the most rapidly building countries in the world. Nearly every aspect of the country's focus is on building wealth and establishing a free market economy. What purpose would they have for aiding terrorists in detonating nuclear weapons on American soil? Iraq is Enormous in comparison with the UAE. The USA has more troops and air-to-ground weaponry than the UAE has citizens. Do you really think the UAE would want to put all the time and money they've spent building their economy at risk by starting a war against America? 33% of their booming economy is based on oil and natural gas output. Do you think their economy has any vested interest in port destruction?
Thank you for making my previous point, albeit unintentionally...

  6. The Truth About Dubai

The instigators of the current furor seem entirely ignorant of reality in the city of Dubai, the second largest emirate within the UAE. As J. Henderson discovered on a recent trip to Dubai, the city is the furthest thing one could imagine from being a hotbed of Islamic extremism. Dubai is rapidly evolving into the leading financial and commercial center in the Middle East. Less than 10% of the city's economy depends on oil revenues, with the majority generated from international trade and tourism.... click link above for whole article

    Dubai?

It is very unlikely that anybody in positions of central power in UAE would actively engage in a terrorist attack for the reasons given previously.

However, it makes it significantly more likely that an actual undercover terrorist could get employed or learn sensitive details, as travel to UAE and fitting in with an Arabic speaking country, is much easier.

  8. There will be no more nations US is controlled by foreigners as France is controlled by foreigners: this is Internationalism and Capitalism and Communism will fusion soon : the fake opposition was to fool the people.

    Good analysis here:
    http://www.the7thfire.com/new_world_order/final_warning/Disarming_America_and_End_of_Communism.html

Here is what Gary Allen wrote in his book None Dare Call It Conspiracy: “Indicative of this strange event which occurred in October of 1964. David Rockefeller, president of the Chase Manhattan Bank and Chairman of the Board of the Council on Foreign Relations, took a vacation in the Soviet Union. This is a peculiar place for the world’s greatest ‘imperialist’ to take his vacation, since much of the communist propaganda deals with taking all of David’s wealth away from him and distributing it to ‘the people.’ A few days after Rockefeller ended his ‘vacation’ in the Kremlin, Nikita Khrushchev was recalled from a vacation at a Black Sea resort to learn that he had been fired. How strange! As far as the world knew, Khrushchev was the absolute dictator of the Soviet government and, more important, head of the Communist Party which runs the USSR. Who has the power to fire the man who was supposedly the absolute dictator? Did David Rockefeller journey to the Soviet Union to fire an employee? Obviously the position of Premier in the Soviet Union is a figurehead with the true power residing elsewhere. Perhaps in New York.”

Rockefeller had just opened a Hong Kong branch of the Chase Manhattan, for trade with China, but since trade relations had broken off between Russia and China, because of an overbearing Khrushchev, Rockefeller got rid of the problem in order to stabilize the situation. He later formed the National Council for U.S./Red China Trade, with Gabriel Hauge (Manufacturers Hanover Trust), W. M. Blumenthal (Bendix Corp.), John W. Hanley (Monsanto Chemicals), Donald Burnham (Westinghouse Electric), Thornton Wilson (Boeing Aircraft), William Hewitt (Deere & Co.), and Lucien Pye (Massachusetts Institute of Technology).

In the Communist Manifesto, Karl Marx wrote about the abolition of private property, a progressive income tax, a central bank, and state control of the family, religion, and education, which are all aspects of a Socialist government, the prelude to the utopian goal of Communism. Yet, they are part of our own political system, which has lead to the ‘convergence theory.’ The theory is, that while the Soviets would slowly move to the political right, the United States would be pushed to the left, with the two meeting in the middle as Social Democrats. And from there, it would only a small step to a socialist one-world government, or the New World Order. Norman Thomas (1884-1968), known as the “conscience of America,” who ran for President six times as a candidate of the Socialist Party, said: “The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” In a February 6, 1994 speech to leaders of the group United We Stand, H. Ross Perot said: “I think we may be the only great country in the world moving toward great socialism.”

It is apparent that the Russian Federation will continue to abolish the use of the word ‘Communism’ in lieu of the word ‘socialism,’ in order to gain the acceptance of Western Europe. The 1990 Communist Congress stated: “...the USSR is in a transition from a unitary state to a friendship of nations.” They will be brought into future ‘collective-security’ agreements, as protection against Third World dictators and terrorism. The amplification of these agreements are what the United Nations has long sought, a global reactionary force made up of American, Russian, European and Third World troops

    What goes around comes around.

This Administration built and played upon a climate of fear. distrust and ignorant of anything "foreign" especially anything Arab.

It is easy to do with an ill-informed society.

If you are sucessful in frightenting a populace, you have the people under control.

Of course the rejection of the port deals may be wrong, ignorant and short-sighted. It is the result of a political climate the Administration cultivated and benefited from. What did Bush think?

  10. You can't be serious. Are you aware of how many goods and services that you come into contact with daily that are exported? Are you even aware how many companies here that are foreign owned/controlled? I'd guess not from your comments. And it's reciprocal. You can't really say American companies can't have interest abroad either.

Does it concern you that British Petroleum (BP) has stations dotting our countryside? Or maybe they don't concern you much because they are genetically ok? I'll be nice because no one is a racist here. Even though the attitude permeates through many of the discussions.

Nissan, go home! Toyota, pack up and boogie! Mercedes, isn't that a Chrysler product? Jaguar's are Ford products, I think. Where are most TV's made again? If it ain't here, toast! Airbus can't land here anymore because they could be hoarding terror. Intel, they make chips in uh, hmm???

I have no problem with this need to increase security. But not with fear as the director of operations. And definitely not as a political/media football. Neither of those entities could find this goal line if they had to.

And woe unto those who would believe the masses are informed enough to be able to do anything other than basically panic. IMHO!!! :)
