Because a kid cannot depend on an adult to protect him. He cannot depend on the law to protect him. A teacher, hall monitor cannot protect him. A kids parents may be awol, or tell the kid to go get back bike I just bought you that you let someone steal.
You are right about guns laws and citizenry. I mean gun laws and the institutional gun runners that get these guns, and crack, into the neighborhoods. You know, those guys at the Lord of War level. Just how does a kid get his hands on an M-16 anyways?
