June Presidential Debate

Discussion in 'Politics' started by kmgilroy89, Jun 27, 2024.

  1. I was referring to how the Democratic Party has been campaigning against him. Their main talking point has been he will end democracy. I have trouble finding clips of MSNBC without them stating that. I think there’s plenty of reasons to attack Trump without engaging in hyperbole or hypotheticals. I dislike Trump for many of the reasons you stated and would never vote for him. I also don’t think he cares about anybody, but himself. He will hurt the country if it’s to his benefit. He appears to be a sociopath and pathological liar. I think he’s a poor listener who surrounds himself with other self-serving people. He propagates tribalism over uniting people. However, Wildchild diagnosed me with being blind with hatred and lacking critical thinking skills so maybe I’m completely wrong about all of this? I might be too stupid to ever know.

That's something not talked about enough is that the Democrats are over-focusing or concentrating too much on the "Trump will end Democracy".

Yet, we still have several more months and maybe the Dems will begin to focus more on those other issues although we all know those other issues are real considering Trump has been carefully endorsing certain individuals that support and promote those other concerns that will bring chaos to America.

Wildchild is not much of a critical thinker considering he or she does not believe it's possible for someone to be a dual citizen of both the United States and Canada to be able to have rights in both countries. Further, he or she believes there was "no violence" on January 6th, 2021 at the U.S. Capitol...it was just a peaceful tour of the U.S. Capitol building. :D

The major Democratic donors are starting to withhold money if Biden remains on the ticket.

Donors are said to be freezing roughly $90 million pledged to the largest super PAC supporting President Biden if he remains on the ticket.
The decision to withhold such enormous sums of money is one of the most concrete examples of the fallout from Biden’s poor debate performance.

You're looking at it only through the eyes of "It was Trump's trial." What I am saying is, I don't care who was on trial, it could have been you, it was not handled in the proper manner according to scores of legal experts that know what they are talking about. And like I said, many of who that certainly hate Trump. So the fact that he was/is the Republican front-runner, and such a trial has never before occured, can only lead to one logical conclusion, it was a political hit job. I don't see how you can debate that.

The simplest proof that the Bragg trial was politically motivated, IMHO, is:

Clinton did the same exact thing(i.e. lie to get votes) re: Gennifer Flowers during 60 minutes! BUT, the only difference was Clinton was already in his 2nd term and couldn't run again. So, no one bothered pursing a tenuous claim like "the voting public was defrauded". Thus, mudslinging is the only possible reason.QED
Yay politics! Not to mention, the Dems play a much more devious game than the GOP, again... my opinion. Not that either party is objectively good(tm).

    Vanz,

One thing I do not do is retry a civil or criminal trial nor debate about how it was done. I am not a lawyer, I do not have access to the evidence, and I do not know the ratio of Republicans to Democrats on the jury...

Regardless, it could not have been me because I am not in politics, and if I was while married...I'm not a dumbass to go fuck a porn star to cheat on my wife is bad enough but to not wear a condom and bring that crap back home to my spouse...years later to cover it all with funds from campaign or business going into the 2016 U.S. Presidential Elections because news like that had a high probability chance of literally fucking (pun intended) the election hopes...it's illegal in the state of New York.

It's a road I would not have ever traveled down. Yet, I do get your point that it could have been anyone else besides just Trump considering extramarital affairs are notorious for ending the political careers of many long before Trump.

Fortunately, for those politicians long before Trump...someone in their inner circle wasn't convicted for participating in the cover-up, served prison, and then decided to sing like a bird.

Anyway, my point was that Trump had a history of civil and criminal problems with the courts long before he entered politics while those in his inner circle took the hit for him. Thus, Trump himself has been able to successfully navigate all of that until now.

Trump is a political rival of Biden...the reason why courts or prosecutors went after Trump is ridiculous when the courts have been after Trump since the 1970s....long before Trump went into politics.

Just as important, in 2016...Trump wanted H. Clinton to be jailed and prosecuted at a time when she was his political rival. Simply, too much bullshit from this idiot when looking at his entire behavior in hindsight in light of his hypocrisy today.

P.S. I disliked H. Clinton too because of issues involving the U.S. military.

Ugh, yeah :( Now the leviathan isn't happy enslaving just a single class of people... it wants to enslave everyone. No one, not a single person, no matter color, creed, class, sex, height, weight, etc, etc should put up with it.

  9. I think a better thing to do is to have what I would consider to be "high on the hog" taxes. Purchases of over a certain amount should be highly taxed. Property over a certain value should be highly taxed. It should vary by what you're purchasing. Obviously, buying a $20,000 car is different than a Rolex. I don't think it matters that much if a billionaire has paper wealth. It's what amount of resources (labor, raw materials) plus any externalities such as environmental impact any individual is using. Obviously some high expenses use more resources than others (like a yacht versus front row seats to an event-somebody needs to sit in the front row and it doesn't use any extra labor, it's essentially just a transfer of wealth from one rich person to another). As a society we should find ways to increase the number of essentials on the market (food, shelter, energy, healthcare) so that the middle class can really start enjoying the benefits of increased productivity.
