Okay except it is a national election. That's Beto's problem too. He is basically a regional candidate. Yeh, okay some people in Texas and down at the student unions in some states find him to be an "exciting candidate." So who gives a fuck.
Yang, who has zero chance of nomination, had some interesting comments on immigration. He's partially right, and mostly wrong. Lets dig in. Presidential candidate Andrew Yang said that “immigrants are being scapegoated” for reasons that have “nothing to do with our economy” Yang has a point: According to a new analysis, immigrants and their children actually founded 223 of the Fortune 500 companies Reality check, the immigrants and children who started 223 of the Fortune 500 companies did not swim across the Rio Grande to get into the United States. He, and the attached article, did not mention that out of the 223, 219 came from countries other than those in Latin America. He added: “If you go to a factory here in Michigan, you will not find wall-to-wall immigrants; you will find wall-to-wall robots and machines He's right if you limit your factory tour to large corporations. Go to the smaller Mfg. shops and you'll see a whole different picture. Small weld and fab shops, machine shops, assembly shops employing 10-50 people are filled with immigrants, some legal, many illegal. In a 25 man shop you'll find 1 bilingual floor supervisor and 24 Mexicans who don't speak a word of English. This suppresses wages and benefits in this sector along with opportunities for working class blacks, whites and others. These are good entry level jobs which are being denied to American citizens and there are thousands of them. Illegals are not all picking fruit, mowing lawns and cleaning toilets. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/yang-immigrants-debate-america-122345151.html
Yes please. She would solve Trump's biggest problem, getting his white working class base out to the polls.
Like I said I’m 50/50 on Biden’s collapse, whereas I’m like 80/20 on Harris. I think she will go down in the polls based on her performance last night and that should give Biden some wind at his back knowing he came out better for the wear with her. Next up for him is Warren/Sanders because, yes, they have a little Warsaw Pact going on over there and nobody else is in on it. Not that Biden won’t be doing his own recruitment and trying to get Bennet, Bootyjudge and whoever else he can get into the next round to team up with him. It won’t be Castro though. Even though I don’t agree with the idea that the debates are the be all end all either. Democrat voters know what they want and Biden fits the bill well enough. Warrens path is not natural, sort of like Bernie in 2016, and it will be difficult for her.
Wrong. The democrats are more concerned about a motivated democrat base than a Republican base. The degree of republican enthusiasm isn’t as important to a presidential election as the degree of democrat enthusiasm.
