July Debates

  1. I wont mess with that commentary. Close enough.

I will say though that - even though it comes out the same in some ways- I think Warren's campaign will suffer from more of the Hillary type problems than the Bernie ones. Bernie had/has people who genuinely like him and are fired up to go out and do crazy things for him. Warren is all cerebral calculating stuff like Hillary but the like-ability deficiency will dog her hard. Just as with Hillary. And she will deal with it the same way that Hillary did too by reprimanding both men and women for being sexist and not ready for a woman.

Biden suffers from a variation of that scenario. He has the like-ability but it does not generate any enthusiasm. There are lots and lots of people who say that Joe is their man but how many of them are going to sign up to go out and put flyers on car windshields at Walmart? Not many.

Democrats campaign position summarized - White people bad. Africans should never go to jail. 7 billion people are welcome to come to America. White Americans need to provide free health care and tuition for these 7 billion people.

And if you oppose these policies you are a "White Supremacist."

  3. Tulsi took her to the mat and pounded her. Now Tulsi is the bitter enemy of the left. Rumor has it she's a Russian agent. I'm joking you ask? Nope.

Read this elsewhere and it's perfect. This is all the left has.

  4. I wonder if Camp Skank has been doing any accelerated oppo research on Tulsi this week.

Big mistake on their part. Almost all of the dem candidates are drop-dead boring and it will only feed into millions more dems doing google searches on her. You know if it turned out that Gillibrand grew up in a cult, has a husband ten years younger, and keeps her poised demeanor by chanting Hari Krishna 18 hours out of the day it would hurt Gillibrand or help her? Correct. You have given a correct answer.

They be coming for Tulsi with daggers though.

Not even remotely saying she is in danger of being elected or rising much in the polls. But the dem party is already in shambles and she is not going to be swaying back and forth singing kumbaya with them any time soon. Beautiful.

  5. Tulsi's voice has an oddly hypnotic quality to it. Very Martha Stewart like.

  6. Part of the impact of her voice is her lack of histrionics.

I noticed long ago that she was the only one on the stage who did not change the pitch of her voice when asked a question or add hand gestures. Then when she is done, she is done.

Whereas with Booker or Gillibrand or Warren or Bernie or whatever, it just gets gawd awful.

Question: Tulsi would you like to go on a little road trip later today just to be bon vivant?

Answer: Sure, that would be nice.

Lest men and women forget, that constitutes a complete conversation.

In both the first debate and the second, however they figure this stuff out, her remarks about pulling out of Afghanistan scored very high points. They were well received and put her on the map as very likeable.

Its therefore not surprising that Trump and his people took note. I realize it was one of his promises from the start... but I think seeing how well she did among all those candidates on that alone they smelled opportunity. So imo its not surprising we now have this, its one thing he can do that's relatively easy from a Commander-in-Chief standpoint and it plays well to the voters obviously. Albeit we leave behind a terrible mess... but that was gonna happen anyway.

Secretary of state: Trump wants troops out of Afghanistan before the 2020 election

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Monday that President Donald Trump wants the number of U.S. troops in Afghanistan drawn down before the 2020 presidential election, adding that he has seen “real progress” with security in the area.

The comments came just a few hours before NATO officials announced two U.S. service members were killed in Afghanistan during train-and-assist missions there. About 14,000 U.S. troops are currently stationed in the country.

During remarks at The Economic Club Of Washington, Pompeo said the troop withdrawal is consistent with past requests from Trump, who has said he wants an end to U.S. involvement in the nearly 18-year-old war.

“End the endless wars, draw down, reduce,” Pompeo said. “It won't just be us. … we hope that overall, the need for combat forces in the region is reduced.”

When asked about timing the withdrawal to the 2020 election, Pompeo laughed that “it's not only my expectation, it would be job enhancing.”

Pentagon officials referred all questions on the comments to the State Department.

Despite Trump’s past promises to reduce the U.S. military footprint in Afghanistan, the number of U.S. forces there has increased in the two-plus years since he took office. Earlier this month, he said that if America wanted to get out of the conflict quickly, Afghanistan “would be wiped off the face of the Earth.”

Gabbard and Williamson should have a battle of the psychic forces for the nomination. All of the hypnotized followers of Gabbard verses the believers in the magic crystals of Williamson.
