You need a hug......c'mere big fella...you, me, AAA and Cubano are going to have a group hug and sing Coombaya and after we finish crying , let's go on the " DR. PHIL SHOW"
you need a hug too????? Ok we will include you too....BTW, where is that evidence, I know you don't; actually have the evidence, but what was quoted in the book you read??? what was destroyed according to them that would have proved the tales of jesus' miracles were just that??
It was in several researches, some of them conducted by very religious scholars. I will try to find out and pm you when/if I find it again. They never received too much attention since the researchers themselves did not want to confront the church which to this day is extremely powerful.
Gotta tell you ...that's pretty lame....You tell me to read books and now you are quoting 'researchers' form an unknown origin, author and era...By the way, researchers will not have evidence...they will have opinions , but I thought it was only scientists who would use fact based on evidence??
There are several books about these subjects. I did read some of them, since I used to be an ancient history buff. Now I hardly remember anything of that. In any case, these readings shaped much of my perception about religion. I don't have anything against having a religion or believing in god. The problem is that religion is full of lies and half truths. Religious leaders were never, in the history of monotheistic religion, true to their followers. I'm talking about the grand scheme not specifically to local religious leaders and their flock). The church in Rome systematically distorted truth and facts to fit into their frame of belief. You should do some readings about the history of the church (and not something written by the church itself). Do some critical thinking. Think outside the box. As I said before, I have noting against religion, I never said that I am a non believer myself, I do have my own beliefs.
Im disappointed in you TMT....Your backing off your statement ...At least Rock is consistent , but you waffled...you don;t know what evidence there is the Jesus did not preform his works...It sounds like you read opinions about the possible destruction of artifacts but once again i have to ask how an artifact will prove whether 5 loaves of bread fed 5ooo people? You read something and TOOK A LEAP OF FAITH that it was true.....see, you are more religious then you thought
Maybe you should reread my posts. My points were made in regarding to religion involvement in the government - where clearly it does not belong. And about the various truths in religious beliefs. This argument is not meant to change anyoneâs standing with one belief or another. I did not try to convince or argue about your belief in Jesus or whatever your beliefs are. If you are interested to learn more about the destruction of historical evidence, I will look for the material and let you know, as I said before. I stand firm behind my beliefs, as those did not change (donât flatter yourself by thinking you can change my lifelong beliefs over an argument on this board ) as I do not intend to change yours. What I do encourage anyone who is interested is to open their eyes to other possibilities and not follow blindly their religious upbringing. Again I never said in any of my arguments that god does not exist or that religion is evil or anything similar to that.
