Federal judge halts California law forcing Trump to release tax returns to qualify for ballot

(CNN)A federal judge has ordered a temporary injunction against the California law requiring presidential candidates to release their tax returns to secure a spot on the state's presidential primary ballot -- a law aimed at President Donald Trump, who has not released his tax returns.

In a ruling Thursday, US District Court Judge Morrison England, Jr., said that California cannot force candidates to disclose their tax returns as outlined in a new sta

North Dakota voter ID law upheld by Supreme Court could affect Senate race

The Supreme Court ruled this week to uphold a North Dakota voter identification law which requires that voters present an ID which includes a residential address in order to vote, potentially restricting the rights of Native Americans in the state who do not have residential addresses.

States flip from time to time. More people voted for Trump in California than any other state in 2016 and perpetual outrage is tiring and I think a lot of democrats wont vote in 2020. I mean in 2016, there was this strong fear of everything Trump. People thought it would be the end of the world if he won and that really drove democrats to go out and vote. Fast forward to today and the economy is strong, unemployment is low, wages are going up...I just don't see a big democrat turnout except for the people that are watching CNN everyday or the people who just don't like Trump because he's brash.

His supporters though...they're dying to vote for him again in 2020.

There was huge Dem turnout in 2019 elections. Perhaps you've seen the results.

  8. Waiiiiit are you saying more people voted for Trump in California than people voted for Trump in Montana?

More people voted for Trump in California than voted for Trump in Nevada??

I wish there was something logical to explain why there were more GOP voters in California than there were in other states.

    Hmmmm

It is not like California has millions more voters than other states? Nah you would have to ride the short bus not to see that.

Hey did you know that more people in New York City have TVs than in Greenville, SC?

Another interesting fact, more people speak English in New York compared to Guam.

2018’s record-setting voter turnout, in one chart

It’s the highest level in a century for a midterm election.

Voter turnout in 2018 appears to have reached the highest level of any midterm election in a century.

According to the United States Elections Project, a sort of database about the United States electoral system, 49.3 percent of the voting-eligible population turned out to vote this year, with more than 116 million ballots being counted so far. That’s the highest voter turnout percentage since 1914, when 50.4 percent of eligible voters went to the polls. It surpasses 1966, the previous high, when turnout was 48.7 percent
