Slim chance on any trades today. I kind of figured that might happen as after Friday there werent too many stocks setting up for a trade today. Tomorrow should offer some chances to get in. I might have a late day trade today, but most likely not after watching price this morning.
So I thought of an interesting idea after finishing my fantasy football drafts tonight. I am going to treat fantasy football like trading. I will have a set of rules as to how I play my teams and I will not break them. It's like my weekend market. Rules are below 1. Play the "Must Start" players every week. This is anyone drafted in the first 3 rounds. 2. After rule 1. Play the player in the position that scored the most fantasy points against the team they are playing this week from last year. If I have 2 running backs and one scored 20 fantasy points last year and 1 scored 15, I play the 20 point guy. (It must be the same team this next week) 3. If a player in the position was injured or didnt play the team last year, I have to revert to all players in the positions "Opponent Rank". If one or all of the players didnt play the team last year, I have to choose the player that is playing against the weakest opponent in fantasy points against that position. 4. In order to pick someone up on the waiver wire, I need to identify a "loser" first. The loser must have had an under 10 point fantasy week the week prior and show a minimum of the next 2 upcoming weeks against top 10 teams "Opponent Rank" of that position. If that is the case, I can pick up a waiver wire on someone in that position that had a +10 point week prior and shows the next 2 weeks of opponents ranked worse than top 10 against the rank. -------------- Notes - Cutting losers - Guys not performing and holding space on the bench Letting winners run - picking up new waivers that are hot and also playing my top 3 drafts each week. Edge - The edge is me and my rule set coupled with "player action". Like something as simple as a trend line break or s/r break, I am looking for weakness and strength. Weakness being my opponents ranks and how I pick up waivers. The strength are my starters and keeping them in each week. I think that covers it and it is probably confusing to read to most. If you play fantasy football, you will enjoy the experiment.
Done for the day. There were a good bit of trades. 2 winners, 3 losers. One of the losers was almost BE Overall day was a net loss but very very small. It was commissions in essence. I am noticing that I am timing good entries but I might not be managing the trades very well. I have an idea but I won't review it until the end of this month. I will have to look back at ALL of my trades to see if it holds true or not. Either way, I am staying the course and reviewing the plan won't happen until EOM.
No trades today. I saw the setups at the start of the day looked slim so I thought it might happen. Tomorrow looks like the kind of day that might offer 1 or maybe 2 trades. I did notice that lots of stocks gapped today. More than usually. Most of the market looked to be a heavy up day. I don't really have an idea as to what it means for tomorrow but I thought I would note it in my journal. I can reflect on the result tomorrow.
