Hello, thanks for feedback. As mentioned in the previous postings these numbers are from the IB Demo System. In this system the prices are with some offsets, ie. they are valid only in the Demo system.
And regarding the final result of yesterdays phantastic result: We need to add about 239540 to the result [just see the latest 2 fills on the posted screenshot here http://www.elitetrader.com/vb/attachment.php?s=&postid=2675893 ] Oh boy I think the end result is even more than 100% Let's see: 345.5k in the preliminary result (see posting dated 12-18-09 01:24 AM (that's my timezone, CET) and the screenshot there) +239.5k ======== 585.0k That's an unbelievable +117% profit! Thanks go to the IBM MM !... Ok, now the rumble in the Wall Street jungle can continue! Yippea!
Hmm. I think I made a logic error in these calculations because the result looks too much IMO... Will recheck it... The above calc is wrong. It must be: OldAcctValue - OldUnrealizedPL + FinalPL that is: 515615.23 - -2199.93 + -407.69 - -9140 + 20540 - -572 + 2203 - -2530.21 + 1826.27 - 2182 + 7202 gives 559238.95 So the result is only 59238.95. That's about +11.8% of 500k.
Have you considered opening a paper trading account? That would let you trade using realtime prices. You'd need to have a minimally funded real account for this. They give you $100k of play money in a seperate account.
Here's the result of Friday. All positions opened and closed on the same day. Profit: $47469 (+9.49%)
Hi, I'm still testing everything: the platform, the broker, the API, my program, my trading method etc. I think the Demo is ok for this purpose. I have learnt that I also need an independent and reliable data source for RT data, this I need also for scanning the market, so it must cover all the stocks out there.... (yes I know there is a mkt scanner in TWS, but it doesn't cover my needs yet) So, it's all much work (many APIs etc.) that must be done first before one can go "live"...
Ok, I opened my first weekend trades today: CBY (my old UK friend and PFE But I won't tell ya the directions
