John Thune's degenerate Gun Bill

Discussion in 'Politics' started by IShopAtPublix, Jul 22, 2009.

  1. the us already has over 30000 gun related deaths a year.far more than any other country. to think that allowing everyone to carry a gun would somehow reduce this number is delusional.

  2. Why? Because it doesn't fit your predetermined policy preferences?

Firearms ownership is far less pervasive than it used to be in this country, yet "gun" violence is up. What changed?

  4. Guns do not equal marriage or driving priviliges. If you must go the marriage route you would have to point out controversy regarding gay marriage and you can bet anything a state like alabama will never recognize a gay marriage from a state allowing gay marriage.

Different states have different gun philosophies, it goes to the core of the "police power" that states have under constitution.

Passing that law would essentially impose trigger happy philosophies of a state like virginia or utah or texas onto other states, which is a disaster. dredd scott was a similar idiotic idea of imposing slavery onto states that wanted no part in it.

P.S that amendment failed thank god. I don't want people who have permits from a cowboy states like Texas walk the streets of florida.

  5. For someone who is enamored of the Second Amendment, perhaps it's not quite in your place to talk about the "predetermined policy preferences" of others.
Are you ready to draw some sweeping conclusions on the basis of your extensive and unbiased research and analysis? Do tell.

  7. FYI Iraqis, even during American occupation were allowed to own AK-47s (legally), I guess they were free men...

    That is an antiquated concept.

  9. Freethinking men don't let the NRA do their thinking for them. Ideologues and other "useful idiots" do.

  10. Lets say a couple of meth heads come to your front door (intending to invade your home). Thunderdog answers the front door and is overpowered. Now. you may well be 6'4" and weigh 230. But you get the scenario.

A barrel pointed at those mofos head will make them think twice. Especially if they are armed also.

Okay, with no protection what do you suggest? Talk them out of it?
