John Stewart worked hand in hand with the president to push his agenda

I'm not the right wing media. I'd like to know.

  2. Have you had a chance to read the Salon interview with Camille Paglia? Even though she is decidedly in the left camp, she comes across as a very rational person with quite a bit of objectivity...The icon of the left (one that you defend at every turn), Jon Stewart, is someone she holds in low regard (too much snark...responsible for the base level of political discourse in this country)...I can't disagree...

  3. Stewart elevated the discourse because he held people to account by showing clips where people contradict themselves when it suits their purpose. And while he targeted the Right, he took occasional jabs at the Left. Fox, a "news source," doesn't come close.

No, I didn't read the interview you mentioned.

  4. Yeah, you kind of are. You are in agreement with the Right Wing folks here more often than not. You know about the duck and its walk, right? :)

  5. But do any of you leftists ever watch Fox? You seem to be experts on everything that they supposedly do(don't do), but I have my doubts that you ever actually tune in...FWIW, that network runs the gamut in so far as there are moderates and far rightie's...it's definitely not a one size fits all type of network...

The best part of Stewart for me is when he took down Jim Cramer on air...if anybody was long overdue for being exposed, it was that guy...and yes I did like the way he railed against the banking industry, etc...but that is a "wedge" issue that neither the left/right has ever been able to reform and Stewart does deserve credit for continually hammering on it (like a Matt Taibbi).

  6. Yes, but he is not a "ditto head". So what if Tsing Tao leans to the right...the point that he is trying to make is that he has principles and if somone on the right doesn't abide by them, he isn't afraid to call them out...

OTOH, you and Ricter and DbPhoenix, et al...seem to shift your principles accordingly...Both of us have noticed that you are completely unwilling to criticize anything perceived as leftist. We've given you plenty of opportunity to prove us wrong...

Can you do me a favor? Can you call up the President of whatever media establishment I'm supposedly a part of and tell them I haven't gotten my paycheck in a long time?

    Thanks!

  8. Relax, I'm only saying you lean fairly Right. If you see that as an affront, I completely understand; I'd feel the same way, too.:D

By process of elimination, you are neither Left nor Center.

  9. When I see something disagreeable, I will disagree. Until then, I'm not here to dance for you.

  10. Yes, but you NEVER disagree...that's the whole point.

Basically, you are completely full of shit.
