I sold my MetaStock 8.0 and am now selling John Murphy's Chart Pattern Recognition Plug-in. Here's a description of the software. As you can see the Regular price is: USD$399.00 and Sale price is: USD$299.00 but I'll sell it to the highest bidder. It's one of the better MetaStock plug-ins. Here's a link to the description which is given below. http://store.yahoo.com/stockcharts/chreame7pl.html This copy is used but like new and includes the manual all in the original box.

These stories are told with patterns. Chart patterns are simply defined as pictures or formations made by price movements of the stocks or commodities you're examining. Numerous studies have repeatedly shown that these patterns have excellent predictive value. In fact, technical analysts who effectively identify these classic tried-and-true chart patterns are among the most successful traders in the world.
Now you can take advantage of the experience and insight of John Murphy, one of the world's foremost financial analysts, to help state the subjective guesswork out of identifying these classic patterns.

Identifies both trend reversal and continuation patterns
When analyzing chart patterns, technical analysts generally categorize them in two groups (1) patterns that predict trend reversal and (2) patterns that predict trend continuation.
Most technical analysts consider the process of identifying patterns within charts an art, and would hesitate to venture down the road of mathematically quantifying how to identify specific patterns. But with John Murphy's practical trading experience combined with the technical expertise of the engineers at Equis International, this incredible new tool rivals the best pattern recognition experts in the industry.

CPR is the right tool to help you profit

  4. Does it work well with 1 and 5 minute time frames? Have some of the readers ever used it? I think that it is one of the most interesting financial software out there. I'd like to receive some feedback.

Here are some professional reviews to provide some balance. Perhaps the others here didn't take the time to learn how to use it effectively. The other people I talked to found it very useful to find good trading setups.

    John Murphy's Chart Pattern Recognition

"The module is very easy to use, and for those traders interested in better understanding, identifying and trading classic chart patterns, CPR offers the kind of hands-on experience that can shorten your learning curve considerably."

    Active Trader, March 2002

"I like the pattern choices available in CPR... CPR is a solid product that performs very well."

Dennis Peterson,Technical Analysis of Stocks & Commodities, February 2002

"We found CPR useful in a number of ways besides the most obvious of alerting us to chart patterns being formed or confirmed. Using indicators such as the stochastic RSI...., we often found that a forming pattern either reinforced our decision to buy or sell, or caused us to do more homework on stocks that gave conflicting signals.

Overall, we found the program to be a valuable asset to our technical charting toolbox as well as providing a fun way to learn about chart patterns. All in all, a job well done by John Murphy and the people at Equis, earning an A+ rating."
