Yeah his programs were garbage. Every time I would start the computer I would have to wait 5 minutes for his virus program to update, and then it would bog the computer down the rest of the time I was on it. On top of that you were getting scammed because he was the one making the viruses. If you ever watch some of his videos on youtube, the guy was a complete nut.
When I used his apps, this was wayyyy before YouTube. I'm talking the good old DOS days. The public wasn't using shitty internet back then, we had BBS which used to be the real shit back then. It all went downhill from there when things got plastered by shitty web pages and broken links (because retail computer newbs wanted in).
Mcaffee is still alive. I swear I saw him walking down the street earlier in a blonde wig and high heels.
Hes a wild man. If anyone had the balls to fund his own death, change identities and 'disappear',Its him. Hats off.
I think he's dead. The man was asking for it. He held seminars explaining to people how to avoid taxes by using privacy tokens like Monero. He was a huge target on the wanted list. I think someone was paid to off him. But that's what I think. He could have also paid someone to fake his death, but that would have been extremely difficult in a foreign prison with low resources.
I’m looking for the most unbiased biography/documentary about him. I’ve seen “Gringo” (which was openly biased) and the Netflix one about him on the run. Any suggestions?
That was good but it just covered the end of the story. I’m looking for a complete biography that covers his entire career. If I find something I’ll post it here. The biased “Gringo: The Dangerous Life of JohnMcAfee” I mentioned earlier is really good but it accuses him of several things without evidence so you don’t know how much may have been made up. There are several testimonies in it accusing him of stuff that were later withdrawn by the people interviewed. They now claim the film maker paid them to say stuff that wasn’t true.
A film maker trying to spice up their film with non-factual events. Shocking isn't it? Kinda like how Buffett always jokes how shocking it is that CEOs try to downplay negative earnings
