John Henry--The Next Blow Up ??

Discussion in 'Wall St. News' started by jay gould, May 31, 2005.

  1. Sir,

I believe you refer to the gentleman who:

    1. Thinks JWH will be "the next blow up."
    2. Thinks Seykota is a fool.
    3. Rides a gann wheel.

Interestingly, this is also the gentleman who:

    A. Gushes about VN who, unlike JWH, actually has blown up...repeatedly.
    B. "Respects and admires" Larry Williams. Larry Williams, of all people!
    C. Does not believe that trends have any tradeable value.
    D. Black Monday, anyone?

Actually, if I had to describe and identify a shameless attention-seeking missile, guess what my answer would be.

Admittedly, I have not tallied the results of his various calls over the years. However, please don't mistake me for someone who gives a shit.

  2. As a happy follower and investor with the said party, I must disagree with you. Yes, he gets a little too excited over some ideas at times, and has made some bad calls. However, Overall the results are simply extraordinary.

First of all austin you need to get your facts right. John Henry is not a turtle. The turtles are the group of student Rich Dennis trained in the 80s. You can classify all of them as trend traders.

Are you telling me all trend traders are net losers? That has to be one of the most ignorant ideas I have ever heard. Have you ever heard of Keith Campbell, Bill Dunn, William Eckhardt? I am posting here a few track records. Tell me how these guys are "net losers"?

If these guys are "net losers" then I wouldnt mind being one as well.

  4. Mahras,

I apologize for any misunderstanding. Ofcourse the people you metion are big winners with great systems. I highly doubt they trade the turtle system. The turtles are net losers. JWH is the poster boy for the turtles, not a turtle, I understand this. see turtletrader.com. your logic is flawed. the turtles are not the same as trend traders. Turtles refers to a very specific system available on the aforementioned site.

  5. Then why does not "said party" stop wasting his time with silly web sites, both his own and others, and simply trade other people's money into the stratosphere? Surely after years of "extraordinary" results due to his "talent and skill," he should be immensely wealthy by now...no?

Oh, yes, now I remember. He fancies himself as a writer. Do be a good fellow and be sure to pass on this reading reference the next time you see him (in the mirror or elsewhere):

    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...104-0897476-7248760?v=glance&s=books&n=507846

I would suggest that "said party" desperately needs to read it.

Austin>Sorry to say but you are highly mistaken. Dont base your understanding on turtletrader.com. Michael Corvel isnt a trader and spends almost all his time bashing every other method of trading out of existence.

John Henry is a trend trader.

The turtle traders are a group of traders about 30 in total who have been trained in the 80s by Rich Dennis and William Eckhardt to trade the markets using a trend following system (go to http://www.originalturtles.org/). The EXACT turtle trading rules are mentioned in originalturtles.com.

Turtletrader.com is run by a guy who DOESNT trade, ISNT a turtle, and SELLS his system for 2K.

Take a look at new market wizards. It is outlined well there.

  7. The same silly question could be posed to Mr. Trump, Mr. Soros, etc. Apparently, they all like the publicity. Not everyone is a hobo living in their parents basement. No offense to hobos!
