Lemme put it this way....the majority of guys on ET will not reach J.H. status. I doubt this goodboy is some hotshot supertrader ;) so lets not mix up our leagues here.

Give the man some credit. He knows what he is doing. Some of his funds have kept making money for quite a few years. He has suffered such drawdowns periodically (all major trend traders do) so it shouldnt be something of a surprise.

  6. I agree but think you've somewhat understated the case.
The majority of guys on ET will lose money over the course of their trading "careers" and will end up doing something else to put bread on the table.

The overwhelming majority of guys on ET will never manage more than $10m.

As far as managing $1b+ for 20+ years, I would be astonished if even one person from ET ever achieves that. This is a very tough game with (at least) 9 losers for every 1 winner. JWH has managed to thrive in this business and both become and remain one of the elite in the game. Anybody who isn't impressed by that accomplishment can't have been trading very long.

  8. I suppose you are speaking of marketsurfer. Why does everyone here seem to be so down on him. You guys went from loving this guy to hating him overnight since supposedly he sold out to a competitor. The fact remains that his public record is quite good since 2000. Yes, he made some bad calls, but over all they were talented and skilled. I personally dont care for the guys style, but give him credit were it is due.

  9. Thank you for posting the results of the turtles hero. The truth is that the turtles are all net losers. Why some seemingly intelligent people latch onto this concept is beyond me. My theory is its a simple, easy to grasp concept that fills a pyschological need. Pretty stupid, Pretty weak.

  10. I have it on very good authority that one or more VERY large money managers regularly read ET.
