You already get no respect in P&R.

These fellas out in the real forums are trying to make a living. They'll just tear an old embittered non-trading fag hag like you apart.

    Might be interesting. :D

  2. What is interesting is that you characterize me in the way that you do and then actually follow me around. What do you think that says about you?

  5. They've already folded.

Now it remains to be seen just how much voters care.

    Odds are...they don't care much.

  6. Call the Tea Party dead. Great! I don’t care if there is a tea party. But I do care about their ideas that are still very much alive and will be for many years to come.

The best “Tea Party” idea is what that Rick Santelli originally stated. I was listening to Rick Santelli during his famous heated rant which went something like this “Why does Washington think I have to pay for my neighbor’s house because he screwed up. Individuals like him who purchase high-risk mortgages (and faced impending foreclosure as a consequence) are "losers". And I shouldn’t be stuck paying for their debt…”

Hand outs are the central issue with debt. Why is the average voter/taxpayer stuck with paying for anyone looking for a hand out? Cutting 2 trillion isn’t going to make this problem to go away. We have 15% of this country on welfare in one form another. Then there are entitlements like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid… and the list goes on and on. Then there is Military spending. None of these have not had a whisper of reform for fear of pissing these people off or cutting their jobs before the next election. Remember government money is there to buy votes and to keep the same people in governement in power.

All we are doing is kicking the can down the road with each debt ceiling. Maybe you are right and voters are won’t care. But the real government problems have now been touched and will some day explode. That is when the real austerity will come and I expect riots in the streets like Greece when the money runs out. The debt clock is ticking and is attached to dynamite...

  7. They're not "their ideas". Ross Perot tried to fix this mess two decades ago, and voters shot him up. Ok, some of it was Ross being Ross, too. :) And before him was the Concord Coalition, which completely failed to gain any meaningful traction with voters.

The plain reality is that American voters have expressed over and over again that they like deficit spending, and that's what this "compromise" gives them. As long as that remains true, Perot or the Concord Coalition or the Tea Party or whatever name they cook up in the future will remain on the fringes.

I'm not saying I necessarily *like* it - but I'm not going to ignore the plain reality.

    It is what it is....

  8. This started long before Perot:

The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground…

Most bad government has grown out of too much government…

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty…

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the Constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first…

    Tomas Jefferson

    My quote:

If people do not act, then the government will sooner than later collapse of it’s own weight.

You've really got no business posting anywhere except P&R or ChitChat. Your constant references to homosexuality don't belong in this forum. Now run along so the adults can discuss business or this whole thread might end up in P&R.
