I replied to your statement that "whatever shit pool Biden is in, Trump is in with him." And I replied. "Wrong. This botched withdrawal is 100% on Biden." And I just did it again. Sorry Cowboy. You have your job to do in defending Biden, and you are failing bigtime. Biden is in a HUGE shit pool all by himself on this one. HUGE. You want to crabwalk over to the larger issue of deciding to withdraw and the planning for that because that is all you have to work with.
I am not talking about the actual withdrawal which was going to be a shit show no matter what but Biden royally fuecked up... I have said it many times buy you keep acting like I am defending Biden. If Biden did a by the book excellent withdrawal, Taliban would still have stepped in the next day and taken over. PERIOD. The way we withdraw did not otherwise hand hte country to the Taliban. I dont understand how over the past year there is no mention at all from the right about hwo trump decided to undercut the Afghani military and government by going straight to the enemy to negotiate with a promise of withdrawing military (by whatever manner). If you are head of the Afghani military and the U.S. went over your head to the enemy to negotiation withdrawl of troops, how would you feel? I will tell you exactly how they felt because they surrendered immediately and the President fled the country.
Well I have less faith in politicians then you do... Biden acted like he planned this and is shocked at the shit show that ensued. taliban were already in the country and his whole staff bungled this badly. People should have been leaving in small groups starting a long time ago so on the day the military pulled out we could just scram and leave nothing behind. Presidents step in fornt of militayr and fuck up eveyrthing. His only saving grace is the media will find the next shit show in about 10 days. But I still think the withdrawal would have been a clusterfuck whether biden or trump did it because both of them were inclined to ignore military input nad intelligence reporting.
I disagree strongly. Trump had already been executing a withdrawal-in-force for months. At several points he stopped the withdrawal and bombed the Taliban. Talks resumed and the orderly withdrawal resumed. It would have continued like this until all were out, very much like the Russian withdrawal which was a textbook orderly withdrawal.
As soon as we pulled out the military the taliban who were invited to the negotiations would have rolled into Kabul... U.S. cannot bomb taliban if they are all over the city. Did you notice the afghani troops fighting to keep the taliban out? not even a s hot fired. Did the afghani leader rally his troops to fight for their country? No he took his U.S. money and went where? Didnt he go to Dubai or someother wealthy place? Taliban already won over the average man in Afghanistan who already sided with them because they were not fans of the corrupt puppets of the U.S. or the Afghanis who helped the U.S. who were seen as traitors. Women don't count in their culture so their cries of oppression were going to be ignored anyway. trump did not have some masterplan that would have prevented taliban from tkaing over. all we can debate is the method of the withdrawal but taliban already owned that country and it was proven when trump decided they needed to be brought to a negotiation table. When U.S. troops landed in Normandy did they call up the Nazis and tell them U.S. would withdraw and allow them to stay in power?
I did not miss the point... there is an imaginary claim that trump had a better way he was going to withdraw that would have avoided the shit show we are seeing. I am telling you that first and foremost taliban were going to step in day after the withdrawal no matter how it was planned. Second... there is no way to cleanly abandon a country after you decided to get out and let the enemy take over. The U.S. has always withdrawn and left behind locals who helped them and simply rushed out personnel leaving behind weapons and equipment (Cambodia, Vietnam are just examples...). For someone to sit back and say theur plan would have worked 100% and avoid the shit show Biden is facing, I would say your shit show would just have a different texture and smell but all I need to do is look at history and see America has done this in Vietnam, Cambodia, Iraq, Lebanon... when we leave we get out instantly and leave a shit wake.
