It is right for him to meet and speak to family members of those lost as well. The way they lost their loved ones is not only tragic but unusual to say the least. They have every right to know their loss and this tragedy is a priority to the president because it should be.[/QUOTE]

    Yeh. Okay.

On his way to Florida. Never been to border since inaugurated.

We are going to see any of Joe's "feeling their pain" for the kids in cages in the Rio area.

Kamala says she doesn't do that work either.

I am pretty sure that if anyone suggested that Kamala go to Florida she would be there in a flash.

Something about that border situation, that just does not work for them and their handlers.

Whatever man. Things aren’t going the way you thought and so you switch subjects.

@CaptainObvious , take note Biden was criticized and still did the right thing despite the criticism in regard to surfside. That’s leadership. See above @TreeFrogTrader just shifting in his criticism. A leader understands this.

  4. Biden shuts down AFG questions on a day when Bagram Air Base is officially abandoned and withdrawal begins for real rises to a critical level I should say.

Says it is a holiday weekend and he has already started his holiday.

Probably Pzaki will clean it up later for him.

    Enjoy your holiday Joe.

He could have had his defense secretary there and asked him to be on hand for questions. But his defense secretary is off worrying about which pronouns men and women in the military should be using. We certainly do not want to bother him.

The U.S. embassy will collapse soon. I hope they have a protection plan there and for their evacuation. Right now, somewhat like Benghazi, the embassy staff are caught in the crosshairs where they are having to pretend there is not a bail out and that the U.S. is there for the Afghans, just in a reduced way. Nope. They need to get out or at least be sure that a military unit is assigned to it. Something they refused to do in Bhengazi because it did not have a good look for diplomatic embassy. We know how that turned out.

Does not matter what your position is on the withdrawal. Let's be real here. There is no such thing as just being there a little bit. And just doing airstrikes to stay out of ground action gets ugly for the civilians after a while if not immediately.

Biden annoyed by repeated questions on Afghanistan: 'I'm not going to answer ... It's a holiday weekend'

  5. Okay, just as I said above , Psaki would be along later to clean it up and defend Joe.

    And here it is:

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said that President Biden snapped at reporters questioning him on the Afghanistan drawdown because he was "ready to be done answering questions.

Wayyy to go girl. Thank you for that. Extra potato in your rations this month.

    Idiots. All of em.

Rumsfeld wanted out in 2002 or 2003, I can’t remember it was so long ago now. That probably was the best strategy in hindsight.

Afghanistan has been an untamable land for of ancient tribal networks for a long time. The Silk Road ran through it. There is no way to stay there forever and no way to keep it near stable without staying there forever.

  7. Correct.

We are talking about Biden's communication and actions and handling of the withdrawal. Not relitigating the wisdom of withdrawing, although that can be discussed in its own right but is a separate issue.

  8. I would like to hear from Joe on this but he has informed us that he has reached his holiday limit for AFG questions, which was two or maybe three. Not to worry Psaki will be along to refer you to the Defense Department and to remind you that Joe is resting up this holiday weekend.

Looters Moved Into Afghanistan's Bagram Airfield Hours After U.S. Troops Left

The district administrator for the town of Bagram, Darwaish Raufi, told the Associated Press that since the troops' departure was not coordinated with local officials, the airfield's gates were not secured. This allowed looters to unlawfully enter before Afghan forces could secure the airfield.
"Unfortunately the Americans left without any coordination with Bagram district officials or the governor's office," Raufi said.

Its a dirty business but the truth is, as we all should know, local officials and afghan military is not to be trusted. Our departure is not something we would coordinate with them. It’s always best to not have the last planes shot down, eh?

  10. Yeh. No.

I wanted to hear from Joe Biden and instead I get to hear you trying to cover for him and earn your potato.

The Afghan government and military are all snakes but I wanted to hear from Joe. After all, he is the one who met with the Afghan president at the white house last week and told him "we have your backs" and "we are going to stick with you" and emphasized that we are not just doing an abandon ship routine.

Now you tell me that it is good that we did not coordinate our withdrawal at Bhagram with their military.

The afghans are snaky and Joe's messaging to the afghans and the americans is snaky too.
