You don't think a president's policies matter? The Fed should not be a tool to make up for bad policy decisions. Whether or not it's included in various economic reports, the fact remains oil is still the lifeblood of our economy. I dare say Ocho, if we currently had a "drill baby drill" continuation of Trump's domestic energy policies... we would not be looking at the highest inflation rates in 40 years. I mean how can that even be debated? If we want to go green, then suck up exploiting fossil fuels for a few more years, lighten up on the epa paperwork required, and go balls to the wall with modular nuke plants. In ten years time we could be fossil fuel free and at the same time have a rip-roaring economy getting there.
El Concho knows the lawyers game which is "he who frames the question, controls the answer. In other words, if you think that there is any relationship between a presidents actions and inflation that becomes "so you think the president sets prices?" Ah no. I am not going to re-enter this well worn discussion and watch El Concho try to get people to step into that hole but I will say in passing: THERE IS A MASSIVE, MASSIVE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BIDEN'S ACTIONS AND POLICIES AND INFLATION and he will be held to account. No pass there.
presidents always get the blame and credit by the ignorant electorate... if economy is doing well or bad then it must be because of President x....that is a given. But it is quite another for the informed to actually place the blame or give credit to the president except for the mishandling of the message
How can you claim that Biden's policies in the past year are the reason why oil has spiked when oil is predominantly imported from cartel countries who set the price and production levels outside the U.S. It can be debated when you cite opinion and ignore economics. tell me why did oil spike from 2017 to 2018? I thought oil was manipulated by trump policies huh? did trump fail you ? Did it drop in 2019 because of trump or other macro economic factors highest inflation in 40 years is being felt all over the world.... is that Biden setting prices and policies in Europe.... Asia... what is your explanation for that. Put away your political bias.. the U.S. president is not sitting there controlling price levers unless you believe in fairy tales. Also explain Europe and Asia...... maybe its the supply chain issues form COVID I explained using real data, not fantasy
prove it then..... I already proved it was supply chain issues and post COVID lockdown surge that led to supply chain choke points and price spikes. Also does Biden control European prices and prices in Asia???? Dont be so ignorant because you want to hate biden so much... amazing when I present logic you resort to name calling and lack any facts to support it
Ask trump since the economy shut down in 2020....if you feel the need to blame presidents then why not blame the one who was in office when the COVID recession hit from March 2020 - May 2020 oh sorry.... does not fit your game plan of calling me El Concho and waving your hands in the air with no facts
Refer to well-worn discussions on the topic. We don't necessarily hit the replay button for you every time you want to play the 'no one anywhere is responsible for anything" button. If you think there was no relationship between Jimmy Carter's actions or rather non-actions and inflation well then that is fine. Nothing in it for me to convince you otherwise.
Biden will get the blame for this as all presidents take credit and get blame for shit that happens under them... But the ignorance to claim everything was normal and t hen Biden came in and prices suddenly spiked because he adopted some new laws that spiked prices is beyond ignorant... same shit would have happend if trump was re elected because the main cause was the external supply chain issues heavily documented.
What Carter did in 1970s is not the same as what is happening right now in the global economy....they are not the same at all. I cannot convince you otherwise but google can pull up the info. Biden has not done anything at all what Carter and Nixon did during a global oil crisis. trump would be facing the same exact crisis and you cons would be agreeing with me....
