Nobody will unite this country, way to divided.Biden is a better uniter than Trump though.Bill Clinton and Obama at least tried to unite and did not throw the vitriol to republicans that Trump throws to democrats.

Obama tried his best to work with republicans and was friendly with John Boehner.Biden had good relationships with republicans for decades

    Tell it to the IRS.

BTW the finger thing was humour. The thing you can't understand.

  3. Campaign finance reform, nice idea. How long have they been talking about that? Years? Decades? Any substantive movement on that? Not an inch. Expecting congress to administer restrictions on themselves is like hoping a looter will only carry as much as they can handle in one load without returning. Same goes for term limits. Why would they intentionally put themselves out of a job that requires so little and offers so much? Sorry, wish it was so easy.

You would have got it with Warren. The fact is that it is what is needed, too few of the right kind enter politics because of the continual need to raise money.

My father after he retired as a pretty decent qualified engineer with two engineering degrees, studied law for fun via an Open University style course. He did his exams, by year three and 68 he was approached by a major party to run as an Irish senator.

He declined as having thought about it and never being one to shirk.. He just did not want to be around the talkers and the politics of talkers.

His view was this, politicians are usually drawn from thinking or talking professions. Thinking are engineers, scientists, medicine and anyone who's work is something let's call it practical.

Talkers are teachers, lawyers, accountants etc. The vast majority of politicians are drawn from the talking professions, not core problem solvers because once your term is up, if you don't get relected you have to re-enter the workforce and that is simple for talkers, far more difficult for thinkers to get back to where the were.

You need lawyers, you need teachers and accountants but to have a well run country /County/Town you need the professional problem solvers, too few and it stinks. But they won't like being money whores begging for campaign money. This leaves the how do they return to civilian life issue but that can be handled by a short term allowance for say two years as they requalify.

  5. And who fans these flames that divide us, Trump alone? Never happened before Trump? The same media, and the same government have been doing this for decades. Social media has made it worse, much worse. In all of this mess have we seen any big time media types get a beatdown, any city councilmen, mayors, state reps, governors, congressman, senators, celebrities, business tycoons, all of these people waxing poetic, giving us their lofty opinions, any of them taking a hit? Nope, and they won't. They sit in their ivory towers well insulated and well protected, while we slaughter each other in the street. And when the dust settles, all of them, every single one of them will still be in power, still right up there on the perch safe and sound. We, we will just be collateral damage in their never ending food fight. We will be weaker and smaller in number, and they will be stronger than ever. Round and round we go.

  6. The Warren of 2005, probably so. Somewhere along the line she went a little to far of the reservation(some pun intended). Other than that I mostly agree with your post. Your father sounds like he was/is a smart man, if for no other reason he had had enough of the "big thinkers" and shit talkers.

He was old school, did not do depression or psychological stuff and physically worked hard starting as a kid helping my grandfather. Typical of being born in the 30s without the softening effect of living in the US during the post WWII boom years.

I think Warren was/is fine, I agree better a few years ago though I accept individuals vary and maybe she is as sharp as ever. Experience matters but so does the energy and mindset of youth. This is where Kennedy, Clinton, Obama shined but I just like Warren, I am a very good judge of people and despite her being from stupid Oklahoma, I trust her. She feels like a good egg.

She also has a twinkle and my daughter likes her so she has a multi generational thing, me late 40s, kiddo mid 20s.

I hope she gets picked as VP. Or if Trump resorts to assassination again and Joe is out (Epstein did not kill himself for sure), gets the presidential pick.

I remember your conspiracy theories that you pushed about Clinton Foundation and Uranium one and all that crap - not a single charge or indictment still after four years, while Trump paid millions in fines for defrauding and waiting to get indicted as Individual 1 right after he steps out of office.

To say she was worse based on ZERO evidence is WHY Trump get elected, you fell for fake news and are still not ready to accept that you pushed absolute BS.

Watching the evening news, showed Biden walking up to a podium, commenting on Trump. The man looked feeble walking.

Why are they hiding this guy?
