Here is the reality - the Clintons are one of the worst examples of crony capitalists in American history. They carry so much baggage that many non-affiliated voters rather vote for Trump.

Just a partial list of Clinton scandals
    • Travelgate - firing of career travel office.
    • Humagate - sweetheat job arrangement.
    • Cattle Gate - $100,000 in profit on $1000 investment in cattle futures in one day in return for favors to Tyson Foods.
    • Pardongate - Pardoning large contributors.
    • Filegate - use of FBI to dig up dirt on political enemies.
    • Iran-gate : Swedish slush fund with $26 million collected overseas to get a pass on Iran sanctions - part of Iran Fund raising gate covered in "Clinton Cash".
    • Lincoln bedroom-gate : Asia Fund Raising Scandal - trading the Lincoln bedroom for favors.
    • Whitewater S&L failure
    • Clinton Foundation favors
    • Hubble trouble - Hillary's law firm partner Web Hubbell
    • Hillary's Rose Law Firm Records - missing billing records
    • Boeing Bucks - under the table contributions to Hillary to get a big Russian contract.
    • Chinagate - how did our nuclear and other high tech secrets get sold to China.
    • Looting the White house - taking $190,000 in gifts when they left.
    • Commercegate - selling seats on Commerce missions for fund raising. The records were destroyed.
    • Clinton Foundation - not a single dime sent to aid people. All the money spent on consultants to help the Clinton image and for the Clinton's personal expenses.
    • Fired by Democratic boss investigating Watergate for being dishonest.

  2. Cowboy you need to start reading something other than Salon and Huffpo.

What a coincidence that the donations to the Clinton Crime Foundation plummeted immediately after Hillary lost.

Weird how Trump w/so much less baggage has people going to jail around him and she doesn't. It's as if some rumors have legs and others don't.

The bottom line is Hillary is such a horrible crony capitalist that she makes Trump look minor league by comparison.

And I will be the first to admit (IMO) that Trump is also a crony capitalist.

  5. Not weird at all. The justice department worked to protect hillary and worked to bring trump down. No insurance polices, hq specials, or tarmac meetings for trump. See how it works?

Not getting a good wifi signal out there on the Mothership, bro? You seem to have missed the last two years.

Joe Biden's 2020 chances might be stronger than we think
    https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/17/politics/joe-biden-2020-polling-analysis/index.html

Former Vice President Joe Biden is thinking about running for president, yet few seem to think he's the frontrunner for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination.

The reasons to be suspect are plenty including his record (fairly mainstream in a party moving to the left), his age (he's 76) and the fact that he's a white male in a diversifying party that nominated women in record numbers in 2018.

But maybe -- just maybe -- we're underestimating Biden's strength. Let's go through some key points working in Biden's favor.

    1. He leads in all the polls

Our CNN national poll last week had Biden ahead at 30%. He hasn't trailed in a single national poll conducted in the last 11 months. Our Iowa caucus poll had him leading the pack with 32%. Biden's advantage is far from dominating, but it's nothing to sneeze at, even at this early stage.

The candidate leading in contested primaries without an incumbent running since 1972 has gone on to win his or her party's nomination 50% (8 of 16) of the time. That may seem low, but keep in mind that the betting markets give no Democrat a greater than 20% chance of winning at this point. Additionally, pegging Biden at a 50% chance is far higher than the 10% the markets currently give him.

For comparison, Biden never led in any national or Iowa poll in either of his previous presidential runs in 1988 and 2008. In fact, he hit no higher than 10%

    2. His leads are not just about name recognition

It would be tempting to think that Biden's advantage is merely a side effect of being well-known. Indeed, in CNN's latest national poll, 88% of Democrats and independents who lean Democratic hold an opinion of him.

That's nearly double the 45% who can form an opinion of Sen. Kamala Harris, for example.

Biden, though, isn't just well-known; he's well-liked. We can allocate those who say they're undecided on whether they hold a favorable or unfavorable view of each potential Democratic nominee. With a 7-to-1 ratio of favorable to unfavorable rating nationally, Biden's favorable-to-unfavorable rating is the highest of any Democrat tested. In Iowa, it's the same story. Biden's 5.5-to-1 favorable to unfavorable rating is the highest.

    3. Polls say he can beat President Donald Trump

One of Biden's big flaws as I mentioned at the top is his fairly mainstream record. Yet, Iowa Democrats by a 54% to 40% margin think it's more important for Democrats to nominate someone who can beat Trump than someone who shares their ideology. Biden has led in every single poll over Trump and usually by double-digits.

Iowa Democrats also believe by a 49%-to-36% margin that a "seasoned hand" has a better chance of defeating Trump than a "newcomer". Biden, of course, served in the Senate for decades and became vice president.
The polling matches the pattern seen in the 2018 primaries. Voters seemed to want to win above all else. When the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee or Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee endorsed one candidate and an outside progressive group endorsed another, the party-endorsed candidate won 89% of the time.

Now, none of this data proves that Biden will win. In fact, I don't think he will. For one thing, Biden may not end up running. If he does decide to throw his hat into the ring, however, there's no doubt that he'll face attacks on his record that could drag his numbers down.

Still, there's enough data out there that would make me think that perhaps I should run if I were Biden.

  7. Biden offers one big positive and one big negative. The positive, his claimed concern for the working class. Of course it is as phony as Bruce Springsteen's but it has the potential to erode Trump's base. And even if phony, at least he isn't insulting them like the rest of the candidates.

The negative, he is a elderly white male in a party that has adopted hatred of white males as one of it's core values. The nutcase base will not be very enthusiastic to turn out for a creepy white guy older than Trump. The Beto and Octavia narcissists expect Biden to hand over the keys to the car, not offer them a ride in the back seat.

  8. Biden + bland white guy would have won 2016. All Biden has to do is avoid the Pailin mistake for VP candidate and he should do well in 2020.

The democratic party is an old white male at heart, they almost elected one in 2016, so Biden should be fine. Trump is no more connected to the working class than anyone else so Biden can hit that core demographic in all the red states to sway independents and disillusioned GOP.

If I was hired by the Dems I would tell them to go there and hit trade, immigration and taxes but now the 2d time through he can do it intelligently and make Trump look really bad. Spend not one minute syaing Trump is racist/anti-woman but show how unstable the administration has been with the Cabinet members charged with ethics violations and those who resigned in droves. I could run a globus monkey and win with that.

The biggest weakness of Biden is that 2020 will be for the Dems what 2016 was for the GOP, a long line of shit show candidates that end up committing murder-suicide in the primaries and give Trump a better chance for re-election. The dems should step aside for Biden like they were forced to do for HRC and pick the VP they like.

Springsteen does care. Very much. He was born with a certain gift that allowed him to become very very rich. Don't hold that against him. He has always cared. And yes, he parties with the Obama's, but so what.

Look at his kids. He didn't spoil any of them. Maybe his daughter in that she was privileged enough to pursue an equestrian dream, but she worked hard... and she is ranked 9th (I think) in the world for jumping and has won over a million dollars in prize money. One son is a firefighter in Jersey and the other one has worked his way to a somewhat "average" job with Sirius/Xm leveraging his music degree.

To say "he doesn't care" is not fair. That is very far from the truth. His voice is not even close to what others have. His guitar acumen is in no way superior to 1000's of other skilled players. It was his ability to compose simple melodies in his head and couple them with words that rang true to so many. That can't be faked when you're in your 20's. He made it big because he was real. Liberal AF yes... but he cares as much about the working poor as any Nashville country "icon". Probably more-so. And he's cared for a LOT longer.
