  2. The financial meltdown was the iceberg. And that wasn't a democrat or republican mistake. The blame goes to the crooks that ran / run those companies.
    The tax cuts while starting two wars and the senior prescription drug bill was irresponsible and added to the problem. A perfect storm so to speak.

  3. I would say the meltdown was also largely the fault of the pubs. The banks got the hands-off non-regulatory environment that the pubs like. It was largely the lack of regulation that led to the crash, ("oh yeah, they'll self-police, it'll be better that way, we can trust them") And even now after that they still have the balls to call for no regulations. And the moron Fox News watchers agree.
